That's the impression that I have gotten too.
Hate that for him...and for the church as a whole.

I'm praying that this is a springboard to something awesome. It looks like the Lutheran community has stepped up pretty big to support him so far.

He just put out a live Q&A deal on Youtube.

The last question/comment he made was about being laid off.

The way he phrased it, this was the worst year of his life, even if COVID hadn't happened.

He said he maybe would talk about it later down the road, but it sounds like things went real bad.

I hope his website and content makes it. It's easily the most theological option available for Lutherans. The new stuff he's doing under the Weidner Institute is great.

I think if he can get his wife involved more, the will really help on the business/planning side.

Edit: Didn't want to act like I was avoiding you Zobel. Was just easier to reply to swimmer's response.

A dear friend of mine has leukemia. He's only 36. Can't do a bone marrow transplant because the doctor says it wouldn't work fast enough. Chemo isn't doing enough. Please pray for him and his two year old son.

Just got the call no one wants to get..Sister said my father has passed away a little while ago. Dad was the 21st child (yes the baby!). My grandfather had 7 children with his first wife before she passed away with TB and 14 with my grandmother. He was 67 when my dad was born and my grandmother was 47...Granddad was a share cropper and put all those kids to work! He died when my dad was two. My dad worked most of his life in the sawmills of deep East Texas before going to work and retiring from Lamar University in Beaumont. We didn't have a lot growing up but we had what we needed. He leaves behind three kids who turned out just fine... Thanks Dad for all you did for us and R.I.P...

My wife's best friend needs prayers.

Let's call her Rebecca, she is a single mother of two. February 2020 Rebecca gets in a multicar wreck with her kids. The kids bounce back pretty well but she has compressed discs in her lower back and neck pain. She is a self employed baker with no health insurance. A lawsuit was filed but, the lawyers were having issues serving papers to all the parties and that held up surgery. Cut to this Saturday Rebecca texts my wife to say that the surgery was done on Friday. What was a going to be minimally invasive turned into complications.

She now has little control of her left arm (she's left handed too) but she can rehab back to functional. The worst is she can not feel her legs. She is staying at the hospital till the docs can find a some solution.

Please pray for her, the doctors, nurses, her kids and family. Rebecca has not had an easy life. Her last long relationship was to a guy that would beat her. She was starting to really take off in her baking.

RC Slocum requesting prayers for a serious but undisclosed illness at MD Anderson.

He and his family and my family go way back as my dad hired his brother and we have spent some time together on trips and Aggie functions. Also both went through a child with heart disease.

One of the best men I have had the privilege of knowing.

I'm dealing with anxiety right now. Lost my job during the early parts of COVID and my new job appears to be mission impossible. I'm the sole provider and my brain is going crazy on the fear train tonight.
