I still think he's fake and just a heroic troll.

I have prior experience with him. I assure you he is not a troll and he is stating his genuine beliefs.

It's funny how he belittles the history of science for changing its mind on the age of the Earth or universe (as new and better information gets available). Yet the supposedly immutable rules of the Bible have produced even more dramatic change in religion in terms of its "evolution" of increasingly diverse sects of Christianity. And did these changes in Christianity result from more and better information? From an improved Bible of some sort? It is Christianity so flawed in its application of science to the Bible that it once viewed the notion that the Earth revolves around the Sun, that the stars are other Suns and may have planets revolving around them, as so clearly heretical to the plain words of the Bible as to burn people at the stake for saying otherwise.

So of course he assures us that those same plain words now clearly mandate that the Earth must be 6,000 years old. They quite clearly don't actually say any such thing, it's just his interpretation and an interpretation as much in conflict with scientific evidence as the notion that the Sun revolves around the Earth. In fact, the Bible more clearly suggests the Sun revolves around the Earth than it suggests the Earth has only done so for 6,000 years.

In my experience, this isn't necessarily the result of necessarily being wrong, but the result of finding your identity in your theological positions instead of in Christ. Not saying that applies to all YEC. It could happen to anyone of any theological position.

RetiredAg,

I don't think much of you, in fact I think your pandering does more harm than good, lukewarm water. These fat and lazy fools, are hell bound, committing unforgivenable blasphemy and you giggle at their actions.

Excellent example of Christian charity... not.

You realize winags probably thinks Catholics aren't saved, right?

He's dead-center in that demographic.

I think Winags probably thinks 144,000 converts from the tribe will be the entirety of heaven

I'm still not convinced he is not a troll. His picture should be in the encyclopedia next to Poe's law. He's a living parody if genuine.

It has gotten over the top, hasn't it?

On the other hand, think of all those letters Dawkins gets from angry Christians... tons and tons of people write him to let him know how happy they are that they'll get to watch him burn and other such nonsense.

I don't know if winags is a troll or not, but I absolutely know there are plenty of people like him out there. They tend to be a part of smaller, more rural non-denominational or independent baptist congregations. They relish the day they get to see their "enemies" destroyed. It would be more comical to me if I hadn't grown up surrounded by these types. As it is, I just try to avoid these people.

Lemmings was the ****.

They actually released a "new" Lemmings game on the PS3 that's hard as nails. If you're into solving very complex problems I'd recommend checking it out; not for the faint of heart!

Going back to the flood for a moment, is it the stance of YEC's that every piece of inhabitable land was covered by water?

If so, does that mean that the water level reached 29,000 feet? If so, how did anybody breathe at that altitude for an extended period of time?
Madman

This is a fun question. But to play devil's advocate would the oxygen content just be higher from the displaced air. Also pushing the all the layers up 29K feet? But now the volume of the earth has changed but not the amount of air so maybe it would be much thinner?

What about the extreme pressure of all that weight covering everything? Would it cause earthquakes after the water was gone? Volcanic activity?

Really???

They have an answer for that. There weren't any large mountains before the flood. It was the receding waters that formed them all.

There are a plethora of problems with that, but there are a plethora of problems with the entire flood myth since none of it is true.

Yea, if you look it a their arguments, it basically asserts some unknown physical mechanism with no plausible source that speeds up your conventional plate tectonics, forgetting that the tremendous energy required is in no way sourced and would boil the oceans.

This article thoroughly shows why real geologists supporting creationism are so very rare. It completely debunks their entire model.
