I'm usually not a big fan of the horror genre - mostly because it's become increasingly, ridiculously stupid over the years - but this one actually seems pretty legit. If anything, it looks to at least be well done ridiculousness. 1408 hits theaters July 13, 2007...

Saw in the theatre and own a home video copy.

One of my favorites; nice seeing a true make you jump horror vs the gorefests that are called horror. The only thing that drives me nuts is that the version that is on TV has a different ending. I liked the one where he makes it out and is listening to the tape and his wife hears his daughter's voice

Yes, I know the movie is 10 years old, but if someone wants to watch it because of this thread, I don't want to ruin it.

For a second I thought "oh cool, another Cusack movie"! Then I realized what was happening and also realized I already saw it. I remember thinking it was pretty good but I honestly can't remember some of the finer details and I can't remember how it ended.

So bizarre to see your own post resurface from over a decade ago. That, and I still haven't seen this movie...

Take this with a grain of salt because I saw it once a decade ago, but I remember being impressed. It's almost bloodless (the main character cuts his hand on some broken glass in one scene and that's it) and doesn't lean on cheap startles, but is still freaky as hell.

The genre would be a hell of a lot better if it had more movies like this and less torture pron

One more time…my kids watched this movie with me this time. My eldest critiqued the whole movie. She said it's garbage. I thought it was good lol.

I thought that was funny because my wife and I watched it when it came out about a year after our daughter was born. The cycle is complete.
