Just saw tv trailer.

Looks interesting. Claims best thriller since Alien.

Has anyone seen any reviews?

There were some pretty glowing user reviews on IMDB. I am always a little skeptical with horror movies because they can start so well and then turn into a total cheesefest.

This movie has been out in Europe for a while. It's been on dvd there for over a year.

I have seen it, and it was one of the scarier movies I've seen, more so than Alien. It starts a little slow, but the plot gets going soon enough. It's probably even scarier for people who have been spelunking/cave-diving before.

Never gone spelunking (in the literal sense) but have a fear of what might lurk in deep water or dark caves.

Plus I'm a bit of a horror nut and this one looks good.

Is this based on a book? I read a book called "The Descent" a few years ago.

I'd give the book a good strong, solid 6 out of 10.

It reminds me of that movie from last year about the cave divers - "The Cave".

This movie was much better than The Cave, IMO. I liked The Cave ok, but it was just entertaining, not really a scary movie.

When is the release date of this film to the theatre in the U.S.?

I read the book of the same title & it doesn't appear to be the same. The movie looks great.

The book was pretty good, but I absolutely hated the ending.

If this is the same movie as the book i'm thrilled. I loved the book and read it a couple of times. I agree, the ending was a little lame, but the overall book by Jeff Long was a real page turner.

NOT the same movie as the book. I saw the trailer on t.v. as well & this is going to be a good one.

I think the release is August 4th or 5th.

As long as they get into the cave within the first 20 minutes or so...

Gary Cogill was raving about this movie the other day and he says it is the best horror film he has seen since Alien.

Ok, I'm calling in sick Friday at work.

I heard they had a showing of this at Natural Bridge Caverns in New Braunfels...actually down in the cave. After they had a cave tour and about 1/2 the people wouldn't go. Sounds promising.

Damn that was a good movie. Bad acting aside, it was a really good horror flick. The first 50 minutes or so are kind of slow. There are several jump out of your seat type moments in that span, but for the most part, it's just setting things up. The last 30 minutes of the movie are flat out scary, creepy, gruesome, bloody, awesome minutes. It definitely made me glad I don't go spelunking. I'll not spoil the creatures, but they look like a steroid version of another creature from a popular film series. Still, they are very well done and scare the crap out of you at times. If you like this genre and don't mind excessive blood, you'll really enjoy this movie.

My rib spent the last half of the movie with her hands over her eyes.

I saw this movie last year. It is one of the better scary movies I have seen in a while.

It was a good horror film! Definitely worth seeing.

scared the **** out of me.

Yes, gollum. At least at first that's what I was reminded of. When Sara first spotted the one in the distance and she flashed her light on it, I was like, it's gollum

saw it as well...loved it, scared me pretty good

i agree about the gollum part...when they showed it hunched over like that, my first thought was "my precious"

Very good flick. Pretty taut and suspenseful even before anything comes along.

I fell in love with that Juno chick about half a minute into the movie.
