AMC app is a ****show. And it doesn't even seem like tickets are wildy in demand. They need to figure this **** out already.

IMAX for Tuesday at 6 PM.

They do it on purpose. Any publicity is good publicity when it comes to ticket sales.

Got tickets to an early screening at Alamo Drafthouse on 12/15.

Probably gonna have to do the late night 245AM showing for IMAX

Going solo morning of December 18. My wife is not a fan of these movies.

I had no issue with the AMC app. IMAX screen.

The three-hour cut of DUNE: PART 3 had an overwhelmingly positive test screening for the studio executives.

Warner Bros.' internal bet is that the sequel is strong enough to rival Christopher Nolan's ODYSSEY in the next edition of the Oscars.

Related...the Dallas IMAX is 90%+ sold out for the Odyssey for the next month. 8AM on a Tuesday in 3 weeks? Only the front row is available.

I assume Dune 3 will be the same.

Not encouraging. He's done well so far, but there have been a few questionable decisions that might be coming home to roost.

Ignore how that title frames "change everything." If you read the article, with the big time jump between Dune: Part Two and Dune: Part Three, Villeneuve is talking about how the circumstances of the characters changed since the last movie. He's not saying he's "changed everything" from the books (though I'm sure there are obviously certain changes). He's just talking about the character circumstances and the movie's pacing being different than the last two movies, which was obviously one long story/book.

The "change everything" headline is just marketing fluff and trying to put something out there to drive traffic/interest.

None of us should need to read/see/hear anything between now and release of the movie that should sway any pre conceived opinions of the next movie. Villeneuve has knocked it out of the damn park with parts 1 and 2…he gets this universe and gets the story. He's an all time director in his prime, so I would not waste time fretting.

It looks stunning, no surprise. Based on what I can see, it also looks like there will be significant deviations from the plot of the books; that will annoy me, but it'll probably make for a more coherent movie.

What were you expecting?

She looks to be in it about as much as the last one, which literally ended on a shot of her, heavily signifying that her story was going to continue.

That, and Villeneuve's take was always going to feature her and Paul's relationship at its heart.

As someone who's never read Messiah, considering all the takes saying it wouldn't make for a great movie, this seems like a good thing...

Just gotta say, I'm still blown away at the DUNE logo. They just absolutely nailed it. Then creating three movies in this epic trilogy in five years is insane.

I mean, look at this! I don't know what discipline it is exactly that creates these things but kudos to them. It's literally perfect. (just graphic artist I guess?)

TCTTS, you would know I bet, has any project of this size, success, and acclaim ever been done this quickly?

LOTR movies were filmed at the same time and released every year 2001-2003.

Harry Potter might be more impressive. 8 movies filmed individually with different directors and released from 2001-2011.

Dune turning around a third unplanned movie this fast is impressive and different because the third wasn't planned for a while.

How dare you forget the acclaimed greatness that was this trilogy, accomplished in five years what it took Dune to do in six…

2007 = Transformers
2009 = Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
2011 = Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Seriously, though, Villeneuve is a beast. He originally wanted to wait ten years to do Dune: Part Three, and have everyone age naturally, but Part Two was such a hit that he decided to knock them all out in one stretch.

And yeah, it's one of my favorite title treatments ever as well. The mind that was able to see the same horseshoe shape in all four letters is a genius as far as I'm concerned.

Ah, was thinking bout LOTR but forgot about the exact release schedule. Wild. I was in HS when those came out and yeah, it was magical.

NGL, Transformers are a guilty pleasure of mine. All three of those. No others were made of course.

Hopefully there are still some real fans who have spotted the irony of removing Paul's inner turmoil at being a godhead for galactic religious slaughter from the spotlight to focus more on female tropes. This literally undoes Frank Herbert's creative work.

We've officially moved from "Generally well done adaptation" to "Fan fiction drivel for the low IQ masses."
