Really hoping for God Emperor and the Honored Matres arcs.

Just based on the later storylines and what not it does make things a little weird.

I expect a lot of Dune Messiah and Children of Dune story arcs to be condensed and even happen way out of order.

And all I really want is to see a Navigator.

I mostly agree with @davidehrlich , but think the @dunemovie date will be Oct. 24th where the Jordan Peele film that never shot still sits. Currently my number one most anticipated trailer.

Now, to try and decipher what "soon" means.

Dune: Part Three is a Warner Bros movie, so chances are they attach it to another Warner Bros movie. However, none of their next three releases feel appropriate, genre-wise...

2.13 = Wuthering Heights
3.06 = The Bride!
3.27 = They Will Kill You

However, outside of Warner Bros, the upcoming movie that makes the most sense in terms of attachments would be Project Hail Mary on 3.20. In fact, WB could easily attach it to that, then have the trailer play with They Will Kill You (a psychological action/thriller) the very next weekend.

Granted, the trailer could technically release next week with Wuthering Heights - which is going to be big, also in IMAX, and would definitely qualify as soon soon - but outside of the studio connection that seems like such a random movie to debut a massive sci-fi trailer with. I'd certainly take it, though.

Otherwise, I'm sticking with it likely being with Project Hail Mary next month. We shall see...

If you are already a third of the way through God Emperor, you are doing fantastic. I had never read past Messiah 40 years ago and the first Villanueve Dune movie motivated me to read the original six books, but God Emperor was a complete slog for me. Took me several months to finish it. The payoff of the last two books is worth it. I rank Heretics of Dune my second favorite of the six.

Oscars are March 15 - five days before Project Hail Mary - so this would certainly check out…

God Emperor is definitely a weird one. I keep thinking how they could possibly make this into a movie. I mean, I know they can, but I'm thinking they've already thought if they should to quote Ian Malcolm.

I read that Heretics of Dune and Chapterhouse: Dune were intended as a trilogy, but when Frank Herbert died after completing that last book, his son came in and finished it based on Herbert's notes. So I will go ahead with the two books that came about due to those notes.

You could maybe do the Golden Path reveal in God Emperor in a few scenes and nothing else in the book. That book would be crazy difficult to adapt.

Yes, there is a missing Frank book that was never made. Brian's books do not have a good reputation so I've never read them. I did read the Wikipedia summaries to see the full plot of the missing book. It seemed like a lot of "And then this happened" that never made me want to read the actual book.
