Alright, so I was maybe the last person on earth to hear about the Texas Killing Fields. Lived in Houston for 13 years and never heard about it. Anyway, found out there was a movie about it...my wife being born and raised, I've been waiting a long time to watch this together. For a movie guy, it's not often that I get to stumble across something from the past that I missed. Like a hidden gem. Especially since it was so close to home.
Cast: Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, Sam Worthington, Jeffrey Morgan...even Stephen Graham
Director: Ami Mann (daughter of one my all time favorites Michael Mann)
And the movie? Whole lot of meh.
There were moments done well I suppose. But the acting, the plot, and the cohesion of the story-telling was so choppy and disjointed. What a turd. 3 out of 10 for me. I was so annoyed watching it.
Anyway, I really wanted to like this movie for all the reasons above. But a completely missed opportunity to tell a story about something that actually matters to a lot of us.
Anyway, you have any others that were total misses like this?
