AMAZING
Taylor is such a great actor, and gets even more credit for choosing VERY TOUGH ROLES
he could have gone the "Magic Mike" route and been kind of a buffoon like Channing Tatum who cashes checks
but instead he subjects himself to physical and mental pain in nearly every role.
next up for him is another Jack Carr series!!

Worth watching. Good acting and interesting stories. As Costanza stated, very The Revenant-ish.
I don't think I've binge-watched a show in years, and I finished this in two days.
I like a limited series. They have a defined story to tell and they tell it, rather than a series where they say "okay, it's Season 2, what kind of conflict are we going to conjure up this year?"

The main actress is the most annoyingly stupid character from a western that i can recall. Show is othewise great.

He didn't opt out of the Channing Tatum career path, his star vehicle flicks tanked (Battleship and John Carter) and his moment passed. He would have walked barefoot through broken glass to be in a Soderbergh movie (like Magic Mike).
TK has been in one movie (21 Bridges) since 2017. Actors don't exclusively work in small screen miniseries over starring roles in films shown in theaters by choice.
I like him too though.

Funny. My expectation backed by countless other shows is that it will be an unrealistic and unfair portrayal of the LDS faith. Hope I'm wrong.

Between the Mountain Meadows Massacre & the Utah War (1857-1858), also known as the Utah Expedition,the Utah Campaign,the Mormon War or the Mormon Rebellion the LDS was pretty violent. The US Army had to be dispatched.

2 eps in, so good. I love the filter they use throughout with the high contrast and desaturation. So dramatic and makes it so much meaner. Great visuals and I'm digging the occasional POV shots. Very creative so far
This show is great. Look fwd to watching each night. Trying to limit to one episode a night as I don't want it to be over. Top notch cinematography and storyline, and I think the acting has been great by everyone.
Also, while it is focusing mostly on the bad element of the LDS church of that time…it also includes some Mormon protagonists.
If anything is blatantly false or conjured up out of thin air with no merit whatsoever, please advise.

This is a nice little history of the settlement of the area that discusses the Utah War. The presenter is an ex-Mormon, but it seems respectful to me.

The most disappointing part of the show for me was realizing that if I had my wish of being born in the mid 1800's, I might have to fight with a percussion cap revolver.
Otherwise, we binged this in one night. Got done at 2 am. Netflix was set to cancel but i got two free hours out of them.

Would had to go with Remington Model 1858. The Colt Peacemaker didn't get invited till 1873. Smith & Wesson Model 3 invited in 1870. Billy the kid preferred this pistol.

so there are SEVERAL completely made up or just unrealistic events
1. the REAL Meadows Massacre took place over 5 days- not 7 minutes.
2. even though the Nouvoo Guard Mormon militia tried to delay the US Army and screw with their supplies, the Mormons NEVER directly attacked US soldiers

Three episodes in and am enjoying it. My only complaint is the woman and her not listening despite her stupidity getting them in trouble each time. I guess it is to move the story along and create conflicts, but I hate when series use this to move things along.

Every time in any tv show/movie, when someone says, "Stay here, do not move" - you know they will not stay and will move. Causing more problems than if they had just listened. Every. Time.
