I think I remember reading something about how modern directors prefer natural dialogue which causes voices to get drowned out my music and effects.

The theaters need to create a "Nolan setting" which bumps up the center channel dialog track for his films and has some negative gain on the other channels. Tenet went from rifle fire sounding like it was right next to my ear to trying to figure out what the Protagonist was mumble talking the rest of the time.

All right, got my tickets for Thursday night. Normal sized-screen in Houston, plenty of good rows still available.

Every Nolan movie starting with TDKR has had some amount of audio issues. Nolan decided using raw sound from a guy wearing a mask was the best plan for some reason.

This is the only CN movie I have ever quit on. Maybe I was too tired but I think I maybe made it 30 minutes and just had no clue what was going on and could not really follow the dialogue.

He literally thinks HUNDREDS of people across hundreds of separate outlets, along with premiere attendees, filmmakers, military members, and their plus ones, are coordinating in sync to pimp/shill for a movie so as to either all...

1) virtue signal about being "woke," even though the very same people argue that the movie is NOT woke, and it's now been confirmed that the "woke" elements amount to, like, 5% of the movie, if that.

2) not **** on Christopher Nolan, as part of some unanimous, pro-Nolan cabal, despite half of Nolan's movie's being in the 80s on Rotten Tomatoes, one being in the 70s, and a number of his widely marketed producing efforts (using his name to sell them) being far lower than those.

It's some of the dumbest, most stubborn **** I've ever heard, and none of it makes a lick of sense.

It's all just his way of justifying the massive wave of good reviews, so as to desperately try and save face, so he can keep spreading his endless negativity and culture war bull**** here. Same goes for his ridiculously cliched view of Hollywood and how it works, like something out of a Fox News fever dream, from halfway across the country, clearly having never spent any real time here at all. He maintains this overall reductive world view because it's what allows him to, on a daily basis, mock and ***** and moan on the internet, something he sadly needs in his life / clearly gets off on.

This is a very good point - I can't think of anytime within the past, say, 6 years, where the media has misled us about anything.

I am not saying it is the case with this movie, but there have been films in the past where I have almost gotten this type of vibe from the early reviews…

Maybe I missed it but this is this first time I've seen that Lupita's role is a cameo.

True...to begin with, would be almost impossible to coordinate...those news stations are at least largely affiliated.

I think the closest thing we may see in the movie critic world might be occasional biases at play or pressure to like a movie for some sort of social reason. I still think "One Battle" benefited from this to some degree (not trying to start a derail but that's my honest opinion). But this still appears to be the exception rather than the rule to me.

It has nothing to do with credibility.

It's just objectively hilarious that that person views HUNDREDS of positive reactions as NOT to be trusted, but, like, seven or whatever negative reactions as to be trusted.

People are going to dislike this movie for all kinds of real and valid reasons. I don't fault them for that at all.

But it's literally insane to write off all the hundreds of good reactions as shills, and then claim that the very few negative reactions are actually the ones to trust.

Especially when the people touting the "trusted" negative reviews had clearly already been hating on the movie, sight unseen.

Like I said before, it takes someone persona non grata to be able to be honest about this movie. That's why Gore can just say what the trailer made clear "it's just ok".
