So, uh, I think I know what the new Christopher Nolan movie is about and, if the rumor is true, everyone's mind is about to be blown.

So io9 is saying they've heard Nolan's next might actually be... a 1920s-set vampire movie.
This, in addition to...
- Nosferatu releasing Christmas Day.
- Ryan Coogler's Sinners - a 1930s vampire movie - releasing in March.
If true, IMO, it actually sounds somewhat uninspired/repetitive on the surface, but this obviously being Nolan, it'll no doubt still be unique/awesome.

Period horror, like horror in the 1940s, or period horror like a really bad b-movie about menstruation?
I would tread lightly on the Nolan plot detail rumors that are out there. I’ve heard them all and most have been denied so until the big guy says what this is, take everything with a grain of salt

All nine conflicting Nolan rumours are true. It’s a vampire father-son spy movie set in the 1920s about a futuristic helicopter

I've actually never seen Blue Thunder, and on one hand "futuristic helicopter" sounds so incredibly cheesy/'80s to me - instead, why wouldn't a modern take focus on some kind of new, gravity-defying propulsion - but if anyone can pull it off and make it badass, thrilling, and emotional, on a giant IMAX screen, it's obviously Nolan.
Anyway, we'll see how this one pans out, and no matter what it ends up being, my butt will no doubt be in the theater come July 17, 2026.
Haha really? This is awesome to me, if accurate.TCTTS said:
Nolan is also on the record as unabashedly loving Michael Bay movies, along with the Fast & Furious franchise

Starring Dana Carvey. Yes, you read that correctly.Marauder Blue 6 said:There was a Blue Thunder tv show too. It sucked and didn't last long. I remember it b/c Hightower from Police Academy was in it along with Dick Butkus.Rex Racer said:It's Blue Thunder, not Airwolf. Airwolf was the TV show.Claude! said:
I honestly find the thought adorable in the best way. The idea that we have possibly one of the best directors of his generation, who's grossed over $6 billion with his films, wanting to do a remake of an okay-ish at best early 80s TV show is hilarious to me, and humanizes him quite a bit. It'd be like Scorsese taking a break to turn the 1970s show Emergency! into a film.

Airwolf was a fantastic show, and Knight Rider had Hasselhoff. The others I don't even remember, including the TV version of Blue Thunder. The Porkchop Express said:
The best part of the Blue thunder era of TV was that once ABC had a cool helicopter show, CBS was like, ok we will get our own helicopter- airwolf - and NBC said ok we got a talking super car - knight rider, a super motorcycle - street hawk, a show about a dude that turns into animals - manimal.
Christopher Nolan’s next movie is about “a pair of aerial helicopter cops, with an older mentor and younger lead.”

This confirms the rumour that the film is inspired by Blue Thunder and will be set in a futuristic New York.
