I'm early 40s and only heard about Blue Thunder a couple of months ago, when it was referenced on the True Lies episode of the Rewatchables. I watched the trailer and, yeah, it's dated, but I think Nolan could put his twist on it and make a fun action-thriller.

Production Weekly can be hit or miss, but chalk another rumor up in the Blue Thunder column…

I hope he ties this into Escape from New York somehow.

I don't know about you, but "new IMAX technology" and "never-before-used equipment" sounds way more "futuristic helicopter" than "vampire period piece" to me...

If it were any other director, sure, but Nolan filmed a movie entirely about conversations in rooms completely in IMAX.

Well, yeah, but there's a difference between "IMAX" and "never-before-used IMAX equipment." The only "new IMAX technology" for Oppenheimer was shooting parts of it in black-and-white IMAX, which had never been before, and this sounds like something beyond that.
