Definitely worth starting if you enjoyed season 1. No reason you shouldn't be in the same boat (or suit) as the rest of us.

Well now we know for sure Juliette and Solo aren't alone.

Something I was thinking about tonight while watching Juliette deal with symptoms of the bends, could that be related to the sickness the Sheriff has? His wife commented on how he wasn't displaying any symptoms of his illness in the down deep. I'm not sure if the silo could create that kind of pressure without water but I did find the parallels interesting.

First truly good, start-to-finish thrilling episode of the season, IMO. Finally.

I tuned out for a few episodes but will happily pick it up again. The latest episode is the good one?

Episode seven was the best of the season, IMO. The latest one - episode eight - wasn't bad, but not as good as eight.

It is way too dark in the Juliette scenes. I know they're trying to simulate a dark silo, but it's virtually impossible to see anything if you have lights on in your living room

The effing dumbest thing about this series to be quite honest

Caught up now. I almost have to skip over the Common scenes, he is a terrible actor

Common sucks as an actor but at least something plot-wise is happening in his scenes/plotline.

I'm already skipping over large portions of the Juliette scenes. How many times do we need to put her in "danger" when everyone knows she has plot armor. I don't need to see her wiggle in the water for 30 seconds of screen time - it legitimately provides zero value because she can't die and we, the viewers, know it. And they've done the same "will she or won't she die in the water?!?!" twice already this season! They've also done it with Solo going to "kill her," her cutting herself with the knife, her walking across the bridge she created (my favorite waste of 5+ minutes of screen time), the infection, the bow shot, the last scene of the previous episode and probably others I'm forgetting. Zero plot advancement since she got into the new silo, just her running in circles and getting meaningless injuries.

Tensionless peril.

I get that and it's been a little boring and frustrating for me too, but this show has shown that they don't care about plot armor. At least in season 1. It was like 2-3 episodes before they revealed Juliette and for those first episodes they let us to believe that the sheriff was the main character before killing him off which was a good twist. So it wouldn't surprise me if they unexpectedly kill off Juliette in this season just to keep it lively

No way would they spend the entire season showing her trying to get back to the silo just to be killed before even attempting it. I agree with the poster above you, it feels like we're just spinning our wheels in her storyline while the original silo's story has been moving at a good pace. I mean, episode before last we got the cliffhanger tease that there was someone else in the silo. Then this episode, we still end the episode not knowing anything more about them. Other than what they look like.

I really do like this show, I just think the Juliette storyline this season has been way, way too slow and way too hard to actually see

Reminds me of this well known passage:
Quote:

Stress and nervous tension are now serious social problems in all parts of the Galaxy, and it is in order that this situation should not be in any way exacerbated that the following facts will now be revealed in advance.

The planet in question is in fact the legendary Magrathea. The deadly missile attack shortly to be launched by an ancient automatic defense system will result merely in the breakage of three coffee cups and a mouse cage, the bruising of somebody's upper arm, and the untimely creation and sudden demise of a bowl of petunias and an innocent sperm whale. In order that some sense of mystery should still be preserved no revelation will yet be made concerning whose upper arm has been bruised.

I would say, maybe the intention isn't to cause tension/suspense for the viewer, but to just show she isn't on vacation in the new silo, that getting back is a struggle. Not sure if that does much for the plot either though :/

Live look at the writers for her storyline though. Oh she gets a bad infection and almost dies, oh she gets the benz, that is going to be hard right?

The ending of episode 9 got me. Original Silo story is giving out gold this season (for the most part) and I'm really looking forward to the finale and hopes of finding out about how episode 9 ended.

Yeah, fantastic episode tonight and such a great setup for next week's season finale.

I usually don't advocate for fewer episodes in a season, but this one totally should have been. While the last three or so have been a return to form (with tonight's being one of the best of the series), the first six featured so much wheel spinning that eight episodes total would have been ideal, IMO.

But at least the season finally picked up and I can't wait for next week now. The Silo season two finale and the Severance season two premiere, back-to-back on the same platform. What a night.

The Judge's Wizard of Oz comment makes a lot more sense now. I guess it gave Salvador the idea on how to squash the rebellions and got the Judge to check-out, so I don't know what to expect this time. Or do we get to see what's behind the door?

Nice ending. But I think this season could have been done in even fewer episodes than 8. Probably 4-5.

Do you happen to know what time in the 17th? I get conflicting answers when I just googled it. One source said midnight EST and another said midnight PST.

Silo (and most 'Friday' Apple TV+ shows come out at 8pm CST on Thursdays). I've been watching Silo on Thursday nights when I have time.

Great episode.

Lukas should have become shadow like 3-4 episodes ago. A character with questions and access could have kept viewers glued.

Agree that this was a great episode.

Was cool for Solo to realize that his Dad wanted to save him not the silo.

The scenes at the bottom of the silo with Lukas Kyle were great.

Good episode

Just wondering, who was talking at the end. AI, some silo command center?

Yes

My fav part was solo finally understanding and the burden it removed from his mind.

I was wondering the same. Watching with captions gave a name that could be viewed as a spoiler I guess, so I'll tag it below.

The voice mentioned that 3 others had reached that point (Salvador, Judge Meadows, and some other person), but only Salvador and Meadows had been instructed to keep it a secret. Wonder if there's any history about the other guy?

The third person was Juliette's boyfriend who jumped off the ledge in season 1 to hide the hard drive and kind of set off the whole show.

But the voice said it didn't engage with him.

Just watched 2.9 after getting back from a vacation. Excellent episode, Lukas is quickly becoming the best character in the show.

QQ I just thought of, and sorry for bringing the book readers into this. But a simple yes or no, in the book does the author call the pez relic, a pez dispenser, or do they describe it in detail and you need to figure out what it is as a reader?

Over/under on whether Juliette makes it back to her silo by the end of the next episode?

Pretty sure it will go as follows:

  • Finale: Ends with her exiting silo 17
  • S3: Chronicles her journey walking from 17 to 18, will probably have to deal with her shoes coming untied and things of that nature
  • S4: Starts season by making it to the door. Ends with her walking back into silo 18, cut to black.

Kidding, but I am getting worried the season is going to end w/o her actually getting into 17; which seemed like an episode away since S2.2.

Adding spoiler tags for obvious reasons.

They aren't a thing in the book.

Your spoiler tagged response is not entirely true.

A pez dispenser was considered a Relic from the "before times" and George Wilkins gifted it to Juliette. This discovery later becomes a key plot point in the story. It leads to further investigations about other mysterious "relics" and the secrets of the Silo world.

The show has some pretty significant differences from the books, including the ending of this season.
