Ok nothing has really bothered me about this show until the national guard shows up and starts setting off HE on private land, within a few days more or less.

Any military exercise especially a live fire one takes months of planning and even longer to certify a live fire range.
On top of that, not bothering to close off and constantly monitor all roads into that area so no errant oil trucks or whatever happen to go down that road during the exercises.

Things like this always piss me off because it would be so easy to write a more believable scenario that achieves the same thing.

Like have the cartel trucks go out there for the deal and the army sees them going into their range so they go confront them and get into a firefight and kill the cartel guys.

Also, having a cartel vehicle blown up by the national guard feels more like a season 3 kind of thing, even on one of Sheridan's shows.

The most unrealistic part to me still is the neighbor girl saying to the daughter, "your dad is one of those oil guys."

Everyone's dad is "one of those oil guys" in Midland.

The most unrealistic event to me is the magnitude of the blowout on a well with a pumping unit.

Finally watched this episode and I can't see that actress as anyone other than Matt's grandma. No wonder he was always outside throwing a football.

Demi actually spoke in the last episode????? Can't believe it. Now fast forwarding through the Ali Larter parts. Good to look at but annoying along with her over sexualized daughter

Complete O&G novice here…can you explain simply why that would be out of the realm of possibility? I believe you just curious

Because this is a well that was drilled a long time ago and a pump/jack is required to get the oil/gas to the surface. There's not reservoir pressure naturally pushing it to the surface such as a brand new well being drilled that does have it. Besides that it would have depleted most of its natural gas reserves. It's mainly a mixture of crude with majority water bc there are neighboring injection wells.

Not sure where Taylor is going with the ex wife. Every evening is a pointless stupid fight with Norris saying this is my life, it ain't changing.

And yet not nearly as awful of an acting performance as I would've expected.

I thought Jerry Jones did reasonably well for a non-actor.

Was smart casting having him play himself. I wouldn't call it acting but just being honest about how he feels. Same way JCVD put on his best performance with crying in a movie. He was playing himself and just saying what he felt.

wut? Jerry Jones has decades of experience of being fake and disingenuous in front of a camera. Superb trolling though by talking about keeping your kids close by creating business ventures to work next to them on but literally paying off his illegitimate daughter to make her go away.

Somehow Ali Larter arguing about paella was better than the JJ scene.

Started of so awkward...but actually showed some acting chops towards the end of his appearance. When it first showed him, his delivery of dialogue was so awkward that I was about to fast fwd through. But was honestly kind of impressed by the second half of his cameo, even if I can't stand him.

LOL

Jerry just got up on a soap box to tell everyone everything he did and why he made so much money was bc of his love for his kids. And in true narcissist form he did all that talking to make sure his reality was understood.

What was funny was him saying on the tv show that everything he did business wise was for his kids.

And then in the actual real world press conference on the same day this Landman tv episode premiered (when they were asking him about hiring an actual football GM) he said that he bought the Cowboys for himself and would not hire anyone else.

Has there been any explanation as to why the attorney and engineer live with Billy Bob?

They may have corporate paid housing. I've lived in a similar situation before.

Company owned/provided house. It's not his house. Which is why he said something when his wife sold all the furniture that wasn't his to sell.

That sounds awful. It makes sense for temporary gigs, but I was under the impression that he had lived out there for years. I suppose that the housing market in an oil town can make things tricky, though.

They're all temporary gigs, then one day you look up and a decade has gone by.

How is Tommy Norris so broke he has to live in company housing? I mean the governor and Jerry Jones know him……

Demi was given a few lines at least. Finally…
