Nailing one gripping setpiece after the next (entire third act especially spectacular), balancing it with so many great character beats to make you invested within the tornadoes. Wonderful soundtrack, swooningly romantic, pitch perfect ending scene. Lee Isaac Chung, you genius. https://t.co/1E0VT2kLFU

I hope the supporting cast is just as enjoyable as they were in Twister.TCTTS said:
In preparation for next weekend, I just watched the new 4K transfer of Twister and I cannot recommend it enough. Save, of course, for a few ify, '90s CGI shots here and there, it looks - and sounds - absolutely incredible. It's seriously one of the best 4K transfers of a '90s film I've ever seen.
As for the movie itself, on one hand I forgot how simple/straightforward it is, and yes, it obviously has its fair share of ridiculousness sprinkled throughout. But man, it's also so damn fun, the cast is incredible, I love the setting/set pieces so much, and purely in terms of pulpy, '90s screenwriting, I actually think it's kind of brilliant.
Anyway, the 4K version dropped this past Tuesday, is available to rent/buy on all digital platforms, and of course on physical 4K UHD as well. Definitely seek it out if you get the chance.
Director Lee Isaac Chung on why his #Twisters movie doesn't reference global warming: “I wanted to make sure that we are never creating a feeling that we’re preaching a message, because that’s certainly not what I think cinema should be about" https://t.co/R0aJGar7sb pic.twitter.com/EIDeIVtVTI

My drafthouse showing tonight was totally full and had an audience that loved it. I think this has potential to be the biggest film of the summer.TCTTS said:

For me that definitely wasn't the case. They're not awful, but you don't have nearly the acting talent in those roles that you did for the first one.PatAg said:I hope the supporting cast is just as enjoyable as they were in Twister.TCTTS said:

David Corenswet got the role of Superman on the set of 'Twisters' and the cast went crazy, even recording it. 🥹

Hang on. Maura Tierney is the MVP of this? Nothing surprising about that, bc she's the MVP of everything she's been in.Quote:
The characters are too dour (save for Glen Powell and a surprising MVP Maura Tierney)

The effects and action are great.
The story is meh. The characters are too dour (save for Glen Powell and a surprising MVP Maura Tierney). And…I know I'm going to sound nit picky about a disaster movie…but it asks you to suspend belief way too much.
Look, I was primed to love this. The original is near and dear to my heart. That movie moves at a break-neck pace and is so much fun the whole time. Twisters feels like it slams on the breaks every time you think it's about to take off and then has an ending so unbelievable that I was rolling my eyes.
BUT it looks great.
