I think The Lion King must be the best. To this day, I think it is the most popular of the Disney Renaissance, which I would argue has the best films of Disney's history.

I agree.Quote:
This has to be one of the most compelling 4-minute scenes in cinema period, animated or otherwise.
How on earth did Cars get such a poor rating? That's easily one of my favorite movies.bagger05 said:
The Pixar run from 1995-2010 is off-the-charts good. Basically across the board critical and financial successes eleven times in a row (Rotten Tomatoes % in parentheses).
1995 - Toy Story (100)
1998 - A Bug's Life (92)
1999 - Toy Story 2 (100)
2001 - Monsters, Inc. (96)
2003 - Finding Nemo (99)
2004 - The Incredibles (97)
2006 - Cars (75)
2007 - Ratatouille (96)
2008 - WALL-E (95)
2009 - Up (98)
2010 - Toy Story 3 (98)
I was also very surprised by this. The little snippet I saw in Wikipedia said critics thought it was a weak story or something?Quote:

I thought Cars was great. Didn't see the sequels but I heard those were pretty rough.
That's funny, I have it exactly the other way around. Liked 2, hated 3.Ornithopter said:bagger05 said:I was also very surprised by this. The little snippet I saw in Wikipedia said critics thought it was a weak story or something?Quote:

Cars is a wonderful movie.
Cars 2 is terrible but Cars 3 isn't bad.

that is not to say they are bad movies, but they are more notable for what they represent more than the quality of their narrative.
