Patrick Mahomes did a really good job singing One More Sleep til Christmas in that one
This film is a classic. Love it.
We started having a Christmas goose because of the Muppets Christmas carol

I read some movie trivia that to me explains why it's such a good movie. It said:
-Before production began, Sir Michael Caine told producer and director Brian Henson, "I'm going to play this movie like I'm working with the Royal Shakespeare Company. I will never wink, I will never do anything Muppety. I am going to play Scrooge as if it is an utterly dramatic role, and there are no puppets around me." Henson replied "Yes, bang on!"-
I think that Sir Michael Caine playing Scrooge straight instead of comedic or "muppety" as he put it made the difference in it being a great movie vs. just a good movie. Just my two cents.

I watch it every Christmas with my kids. Great movie and easily the best adaptation of the novel.

Definitely my favorite Christmas movie. Like said above, it's a great adaptation of the book, great songs, Michael Caine paired with the Muppets and their humor is hard to beat.

Is there any way to watch it without 'the love is gone' song removed and not having an old VHS? I was bummed when they took it out.
I believe they lost the negative so they can't add it back in without significant quality issues.

Lol. I'm just thinking of Jim Caviezel acting with all the diff muppets.
I'm pretty sure we've never watched this movie. Started last night and so far it is really good. We quit because it was a long weekend and we kept nodding off, but that isn't a reflection of the movie.
Looking forward to finishing this week and keeping it in our regular rotation.

Just don't watch the Disney+ version, they cut out, "when the love is gone" song. Which I would argue is a pivotal moment for Scrooge's past. It's asinine to think that you have to shield kids from a sad scene in a movie. Life is tragic and these kids will learn sooner or later when reality hits them like a brick. It's essentially removing the universal humanity from a story which is what people really connect to. /rant
