What an incredibly random cast. What an incredible looking series. Cannot wait for this...

Really looking forward to this. Stinks that it's on showtime, but oh well. Emma Stone has kind of bizarrely been forgotten by too many when it comes to best actresses, especially because most of those highly-acclaimed and younger than she is (in the Anglosphere at least) are unimpressive/ too wooden.

Stone is the frontrunner for Best Actress this year for Poor Things, which comes out in December. As of now, it's between her and Lily Gladstone from Killers of the Flower Moon.

Right, I just meant with viewers in general. I shouldn't be surprised, considering she prefers to work with auteurs (as one should if they can).

Safdie's performance in Good Time as the special needs brother was gripping and convincing. And heart-wrenching at times.

Pattinson's performance in that film is why I was on board for his casting in The Batman. Highly recommend Good Time to those that haven't seen it.

Pretty ambivalent on stone but the other two are good in everything

This is the weirdest, most deeply uncomfortable, most hilariously awkward show ever, and I absolutely love it.

Fielder & Safdie wrote it, and it's pretty much exactly what you'd expect from their two minds melding; cringe humor/situations, except with even more creeping anxiety. It's so f-ing strange, and dark, and definitely not for everyone, but even a certain other board here would at least appreciate how much they subtly mock hypocritical woke/liberal philanthropy entertainment.

I almost can't believe it exists, with Emma Stone starring to boot, but I'm totally in for the next nine weeks, to the point where I honestly think I just became instantly obsessed.

How did they get Emma Stone to star in this? That enabled me to get my wife to try watching it though I warned her that Nathan Fielder can get uncomfortable. She bailed hard after the cherry tomato boys scene as I'm cry laughing and fist pumping.

Cherry Tomato Boys had me rolling. Could not believe what I was watching.

Love in the Third Degree was also incredible.

As for Stone, Fielder and especially Safdie seem to have a lot of "prestige" clout/cache. Stone is also married to a segment director for Saturday Night Live (he directs a lot of those fake commercials), so I imagine he/she are pretty plugged into the comedy world through him. Either way, props to her for doing something like this, as she just became even cooler in my eyes.

I'm excited to watch this one, but I'll probably wait a few weeks to jump in. There is a less than 0% chance that my wife would watch this with me, so this will be on my own time. The Rehearsal premiering late on Friday nights was perfect so that might be when I watch this one too.

Makes more sense now:

That scene is so good and so cringe.

Technically, I guess he's been "acting" in all of his stuff prior to this, but for his first scripted series to be opposite an Oscar winner, he surprisingly holds his own.

Agreed, he's actually proving to be a really good actor. I'm really enjoying the show so far. Could have done without seeing his dick, but it's integral to the story so far. What an odd and enjoyable show so far. I can't wait to see how it devolves into abject destruction for him and the lengths he will go to continue to lie. If you think about it, there's little known about him so far, but you can just tell there will be some serious drama coming. I also can't wait to see what the director fella will do to bolster the story between the couple. He's already laying the groundwork for coming between the couple and creating infidelity. Not because he cares about Emma Stone, but only because the show would be that much better to see their downfall.

Beware a man who wears rings on every finger haha.

I think the unscripted stuff he does as the "Nathan Fielder" character may be harder than traditional acting in a lot of ways so he should be able to hold his own with an Oscar winner. Although if that NYT review they read on Kimmel was real, I guess they don't agree with me!

I really hope at least some of you are still watching, because this continues to be one of the weirdest, cringiest things I've ever seen, in all the best ways. This latest episode, in particular, with Whitney going full-on psycho… so good.

Not to get political, but for the conservatives wanting Hollywood to critique the left more often, that's exactly what this show is doing. Just fully skewering and showing how hypocritical/full of sh*t certain phony, privileged, liberal philanthropists can be. Whitney desperately trying to force diversity, and decide who she thinks deserves one of her homes, to no avail, only to then of course have Blue Lives Matter guy end up being the perfect buyer, and she can't stand it. Casting Dean Cain in that role to boot was some meta genius.

God, I love this show, and can't believe it's only halfway over.

Stone is dominating in this show and I'm loving it- leading Oscar contender while also co-existing with fielder and safdie craziness. Favorite parts are when they're on camera and Fielder is trying to be funny

I really wanted to like this show but its just so terrible. Its so slow. I gave it 5 episodes hoping it would turn a corner, have a point or a twist, but it hasn't. Not sure how this show can sustain with what I would perceive has to be a very small audience.

I love this show, and I don't even know why. I guess because it's just so weird and awkward. I have no real idea where it's going, but they're doing something that just makes me trust it's going…somewhere.

How they got Emma Stone to do 10 episodes of this, I have no idea. But she's been great.
TCTTS
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Right there with you. This latest episode, in particular, took it to a whole new level, now that we're smack dab in the middle of filming the reality show. Dougie pulling the puppet strings, and the chicken on the toilet, were both so good. Asher is going to end up fetal position in a mental institution by the time it's all said and done.

Really excited to finally start this show. Emma Stone is probably the best working actress and always has such interesting roles. Pumped for this and Poor Things

The opening scene where they're just talking about the weather and paint drying "I guess I didn't realize paint dries faster with that type of brush". This is your vision for the show right?

8 minute Pilot episode here. I've had so much hgtv playing in the background in houses I've been in over 2 decades and this is just killing me

Loved this week's episode.

There are only 3 left (clearly this is a one season only show, as there is no way they are getting Stone again), and I have no idea where this is headed, but I'll keep cringing every week.

I really should have waited- this show demands to be binge watched.
