Texas A&M has made another addition to its 2026 roster today with the commitment of former Illinois defensive tackle Angelo McCollum, who heads to Aggieland via the transfer portal.
He’ll arrive in College Station with two years of eligibility remaining and becomes the 14th inbound player in this January window.
A 6-foot-2, 300-pound native of Pickerington, Ohio, McCollum starred at Pickerington North High School before choosing the Illini over Indiana and Pittsburgh in the class of 2024.
During his time in Champaign, he appeared in 19 games — 12 of which came in the 2025 season after his true freshman year saw him compete in seven contests mostly as a depth piece. This past fall, he made 18 tackles, logged two tackles for loss, had 1.5 sacks and knocked down two passes, which both came in a November win vs. Maryland.
McCullom is expected to come in and bolster the defensive line rotation for Elijah Robinson and Tony Jerod-Eddie.
