Did a little searching as I wasn't wholly convinced when I was first considering it myself the other day and it took me all of about 90 seconds to confidently dismiss HAZMAT search teams based off of one fact.
NEST teams already have multiple aircraft and helicopters equipped to detect and locate nuclear material and they use the best camouflage of all. Blending into existing air traffic with similar aircraft. They even knowingly paint their craft accordingly to not give off "Hey look at me, I'm a fedboi!" vibes.

Coincidentally same model that has caused a few misidentifies so far. If there was a real threat of nuclear material in the states, they are more than capable of finding it already with what they have without using secret tech or playing peek a boo for weeks on end. They can and have launched searches without the public knowing. It's kinda their whole mandate actually. Their equipment is sensitive enough that people with radioactive dyes in their bodies for medical imaging peeing in parking lots have been detected and scrambled the teams before.
