Trump was asked about this on one of the recent podcasts he did and he said he's going to release JFK for sure and kind of waffled on UFO, said he wasn't really interested in the topic but seemed committed to allowing Congress access to investigate

So, in all my time following this subject I've never once seen an object in the sky that I couldn't identity.

As curious as I am, and as many times as I look up, I've never once seen a UFO.

At least... until today.

Granted, it was blink-and-you-missed-it and not at all close, but it's still something I can't fully explain it, though maybe some of you can...

Basically, I was heading southwest on the 110, with downtown Los Angeles on my immediate left, heading from Pasadena down to the 10 west, in bumper-to-bumper traffic, maybe 300 yards north of Crypto Arena (formerly Staples Center). It was 5:32 PM (I looked at the clock right after it happened), it was a light orange/deep blue dusk, zero buildings in front of me, and not a cloud in the sky. Straight ahead, twelve miles further southwest was LAX, and on any clear day, no matter where you are in LA, as long as your view isn't obstructed, you can see any number of planes at various altitudes, flying into/taking off from/high above LAX. And like any airport from such a distance, plane lights around it almost appear to be hovering/hardly moving, even though they're obviously traveling hundreds of miles an hour.

Such was the case from my vantage point, where I noticed maybe four planes, which were all nothing more than blinking lights in that general direction, at various altitudes in my general field of view, and none very close to each other. But they all really stood out against the orange/deep blue dusk, even more so than the plane lights when it was a fully dark sky 10 minutes later. It was very stark and picturesque.

I was going maybe ten miles an hour, listening to a podcast, half paying attention to the traffic in front of me, half watching the planes in the distance, when, all of the sudden, BELOW two of the planes, roughly even with another, and above the fourth plane, a bright, distinct white light caught my eye and shot across the sky from my left to right (east to west) at a slight downward trajectory. I would say it crossed half the span of my windshield in three seconds, moving at a jaw-dropping speed, so much faster than either of the four planes, which, again, from my vantage point, all basically appeared to be hovering. Yet, while this object was slightly in front of them, between me and LAX, it was basically the same distance away as the other four lights. So this thing had to have been traveling thousands of miles an hour. It was SO fast, and SO distinct. And again, lasted only three-ish seconds… then disappeared. Not like shot-off-and-disappeared, but just blipped out of the sky as it was flying.

I immediately tried to explain it away as a shooting star and, granted, maybe the way the curvature of the Earth works, it could have somehow been so far off in the distance as to be entering from space. That said…

A) There was no tail/trail whatsoever. Just a bright, singular, distinct point of white light.

B) Again, it was BELOW at least two of the planes. I just looked it up, and shooting stars apparently burn roughly 50-75 miles above Earth's surface, while this light appeared in the lower third of my field of view, without raising my head at all.

C) The light didn't gradually go out, as if entering the atmosphere. It was there one second and the next it was gone. It literally blipped out of existence as it streaked across the sky.

Anyway, I don't know what to make of it.

Maybe it really was a shooting star and can somehow be explained as such. But man, the gut feeling I got was that it wasn't natural at all. It was both eerie and exciting, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.

I've seen a fireball move across the sky in Houston that was pretty striking, although I'm not sure it moved as fast as you described. I was sitting on a patio though, not driving.

There's a website or two where people report fireball sightings, so you might look around and see if anyone else reported seeing it.

I have seen one "cool" thing that was pretty unusual (aside from meteors), but I tend to think it was military jets that just look different at night and at a distance greater than demonstration flyovers. That's what I tell myself, anyway. I've heard other people on talk shows and stuff describe sightings similar to what I saw, and believe that at least some people really are seeing things that are...unusual or hard to explain based on what we are used to seeing.

Interesting, and good to know. I've never seen a fireball in the sky, but I would assume it would have a flicker and not be a perfect circle, but you tell me. All I know is what I saw was basically a perfect circle of white light - maybe twice as big/bright as the plane lights in the sky - and it didn't flicker or blink at all. It was very white, very distinct, very consistent, and yeah, just moved so damn fast. The one thing that gives me pause is that, again, it was on a slight downward trajectory, but otherwise looked like something flying and not falling.

I think the one I saw was more orangeish, moving North to South across the sky.

Anyway, the fireball reporting site is at least a quick way to confirm that you weren't the only one who saw it: https://fireball.amsmeteors.org//members/imo_view/browse_events?country=-1&year=2024

Cool story. I honestly wouldn't be surprised we see a global uptick in sightings as we inch closer to disclosure.

As a random irrelevant data point, on election night I was watching various outlets interviewing exiting voters. One dude they asked who he voted for and he said Trump and when they asked why he said "He gets the UFO stuff and I think he'll lead us to disclosure"

I totally did the leo decaprio point at the tv meme

Was there still some sunlight at that time? I know you said orange/blue dusk. My initial guess (which is obviously going to be difficult to make based on written description) was light reflecting off something until it reached a point or angle that it just didn't reflect in your direction anymore. In weird light settings, objects moving in the air can really seem to be doing things they aren't. Just like the airplanes seeming to hover.

I don't want this to read as a huge skeptic post, just what I would guess first. I don't think it was a meteor based on your description. Those usually "streak" and can flare up or fade in brightness.

In terms of fireballs, one of the coolest things I've ever seen is the now retired space shuttles entering the atmosphere on re-entry at night. Basically a trail of fire left across the sky for miles. Here is a decent video that doesn't really do justice. Obviously any fire trails or fireballs since the shuttle program ended would be something else.

There was still light, but the sun had already set. I just looked it up and the sun technically set just before 5 PM yesterday (while it was 5:32 when I saw the object/light). Also, it's 5:07 as I type this now, looking out my office window, and basically the same thing - there's still some light but the sun is already down.

I'm not completely ruling out light reflecting off of something, though. It was bumper-to-bumper traffic, so it's definitely possible that it could have potentially been the reflection of a car light.

That said, I'm 95% sure it wasn't.

It was very distinct, very sharp, appeared as if it had mass, and was almost assuredly moving through the sky. There was no other glare, flare, halo effect, etc, if a reflection.

Saw one about a month ago after about a year of going out 3-4 nights a week on clear nights. It looked like a star at first. Right next to Altair and Tarazed.

That thing started to haul ass right when I focused on it. It started to separate from the other two and distinctly tracked a C like curve around both stars and before it blinked in and out a couple of times and disappearing.

Now what the **** was that.

Trumps gonna declassify all of JFK this time around too, he claims.

That's at least tangentially related to this thread of all things high strangeness id say.

If Trumps the first contact President I can't wait to see the aliens walk out of the White House and Trump announces they're gonna start taking tourists to their home planet and will accept USD

What's the best show on UFOs? Production value, story telling, value on the subject matter, etc. I'm not interested in the slightest in watching a two hour YouTube conversation. Was thinking about throwing on the George Knapp Netflix show, but wanted to see if it was worth my time or if there was something better.

UFOs: Investigating the Unknown

From 2023, this is probably the most professional, comprehensive, well-produced docu-series on the subject that's also the most up to date. Of all the content out there, this is where I would start.

You can find it in five parts at Hulu here…

https://www.hulu.com/series/ufos-investigating-the-unknown-4c1070e7-5b4d-46e1-a5ee-b9eb0c7db18c

… or you can watch all five episodes edited together into a single mega documentary for free at National Geographic's YouTube channel here…

Beyond: UFOs and The Unknown

This four-part docu-series, from MGM+ and J.J. Abrams, debuted just two weeks ago and is actually still airing, with one episode left this coming Sunday. So far, I find it to be extremely well done, and while the first episode covers similar ground to the docu-series above, it soon veers in episode two into the more out there aspects of the phenomenon, touching on abductions, consciousness, etc. Again, it's just really well-produced, with access to a ton of big names in the field, and quality/information-wise, it's easily my #2 so far.

MGM+ is only $6.99 a month, but with a free, week-long trial, anyone can sign up now and knock out all four episodes by Sunday, then cancel free of charge…

The James Fox Collection

Fox is probably the most trusted, well-known documentarian in the field, and his primary two documentaries so far (with a highly-anticipated third on the way later this year) are some of the most popular, informative, and accessible out there. I don't find the quality to be quite as high as the two docu-series above, but Fox is easily the most passionate, hard-working documentarian covering the subject as well, which more than makes up for the lack of a super-professional sheen. The first two documentaries below are available wherever you rent/buy digital movies, while The Program is rumored to drop digitally next month…
