I'm sympathetic to a view in the most recent Why Files of the Ozarks abductions - that "Disclosure!" CANNOT occur because FedGov made deals for technology in exchange for allowing experiments on humans.

(If so, this doesn't contradict the Apostolic, or Catholic / Orthodox, views I've tried to articulate here. I believe as Christian convert Howard Storm does, check out his short book)

While I'm open to the idea of our government having potentially made official contact at some point, I've never bought the idea of a broader official agreement simply because it seems insane to me that such an advanced species would need our consent to abduct anyone. Also, by most accounts, whatever technology we may or may not have from them is from crashes and the like, that we've spent decades trying to reverse engineer, and wasn't simply handed over to us, ready to go, out of the box. That said, there is obviously no more unpredictable or unconventional topic out there, so I guess anything's possible...

It's a good episode. AJ is properly skeptical. The basic idea, I believe, is that formal cooperation is mutually beneficial, primarily stand downs of nuclear destruction which would harm their resource extraction.

How many people have reported this generalization?

Many, in different regions, in different decades.

Similar to bigfoot - green lights, specific noises, fast movements, telepathy

This is "High Strangeness" - identifiable patterns of the paranormal

As many interviews as I've seen Lue give, this one is especially surreal, to the point where it feels like we're reaching a new phase in the public discourse. Not because of anything specific Lue says (there's nothing new here, though I do love how blunt and well-spoken he is), but because of how notable The Daily Show is, the fact that Lue is even on it, and especially how host Ronny Chieng reacts throughout. The interview is the perfect blend of facts and funny, and whether or not Chieng believes, it's an absolute trip to see his reality bubble being pierced like this on national TV…

It seems highly unlikely that JWST could detect a moving planet sized object 10 light years away.

They would have to focus for an extended period of time (weeks) on a particular section of space and be able to compare images AND the planet sized object would need to be lit up like Times Square. Plus be lucky enough to pick out the tiny section of space to focus on. Like a grain of sand held at arm's length speck of the sky type section.

IMO this is some long range viral marketing for the upcoming Denis Villeneuve movie "Rendezvous with Rama" that is about a giant spaceship headed towards earth.

JWST is equipped with infrared cameras, so the object doesn't have to be illuminated with visible light to be detected. But I agree, this sounds a lot like a RAMA marketing campaign that fooled someone.

I get why you're asking, but radar is not analogous to a Soviet Geiger counter that maxes out way too low.

What if.

What if whatever it takes for them to get here is hugely costly? …… in energy or in resources or in time? What if what they're sending are probes, and they have to maximize their capabilities because it's a one-way trip?

What if they only have the ability to quantum teleport some kind of very small Von Neumann probe, which has to build itself out of local materials?

What if there's a generation ship of some kind that has been travelling across the galaxy for millennia, bringing them here (like the rumored planet-sized craft supposedly observed by JSWT), and we are only dealing with an advanced scouting party that could, for the reasons above (or any other you can think of) only come in small groups?
