Last season ended incredibly strong, which essentially led to somewhat of a new/fresh dynamic on the show this final season. Besides, however many episodes you missed last season + four episodes this season (after tomorrow) is nothing. That, and it's the final season, so yeah, I'd say it's definitely worth catching up.

I finished last season. Guess I'll check this one out.

Might wait for Succession to end and then binge it.

As a counterpoint, I really disliked how the third season ended. My wife gave up on it but I decided to try the new season because I'm such a big Bill Hader fan. I've actually found the other characters to be far more intriguing than him so far, but I would still give it a go if I were you.

Just watched the first three of this season on a binge to catch up. NoHo is still the best. The wardrobe at the diner in episode 2 had me rolling.

Just started. Already feels like this season is off to a better start. And immediately came here when I saw Noho Hank in this scene to see if anyone had posted this.

Still can't stand Sally though. The show is so much worse any time she's on screen.

For those of you that didn't understand the ending, obviously Barry is going to talk to his son about transgenderism because he grabbed a Budweiser after losing a fight.

/sarcasm

I have no clue what the ending was about. It definitely was a long pause on the six Budweisers and the six bottles of champagne/sparkling wine and a donut in the setting of one of his previous flashbacks. I'm sure there's some presentation of something that I'm not putting together

Here's my theory for the ending, which is probably 99% incorrect

It's a time jump, not a dream. Sally and Barry escaped to middle of nowhere and lived a solitary life. The reasoning for why they could get away. Cousineau shooting the delivery driver. Since he shot them, maybe ppl assume Barry was scared and lied to protect cousianeu and the cops thing Gene is actually the killer. Hank is leader of LA, Fuchs has become king of the prison. Barry can't resist protecting his kid and does something bad which jeapordizes their secrecy and the rest of the season is fallout

You should rewatch that scene and see who Gene shoots

You really need to go back and look at who Gene shoots.

Didn't love tonight's episode

IMO, from prison, Barry turned his childhood memory (growing up in the fields, where he met Fuches) + his dream/aspiration (the future with Sally we saw him envision) into reality (a legit flash forward tonight), as if he manifested it.

Whatever the truth ends up being, Hader achieved some surreal, Coen Brothers-esque greatness tonight, and it was pretty cool to see.

Then, I guess the question is...was Barry's childhood memory even real either?

Who knows? If so, Barry presumably moved back to either his hometown or a town just like it, on the outskirts, in an effort to stay off the grid, so to speak, but also, on a deeper level, maybe to also reclaim some of his childhood innocence?

I cackled at this! The other part that had me rolling was when Hank presented the casino party with the Sammy Hagar song playing.

Well that was depressing as hell.

Are we really done with the present day timeline?

On one hand, I can appreciate the balls of just saying screw it and jumping ahead eight years, for good. But while much of the present day timeline *had* run its course, there was enough left there that I thought we were at least going to hop back and forth between timelines in some capacity.

Surely they at least bring NoHo Hank and Fuches back into the mix, and we get to see their eight-years-later selves, if only for some much-needed comedy.

I laughed when their son asked the other boy if his mom wore hair on top of her hair and Barry trying to scare the crap out of his kid not to play baseball with those videos.

not a fan of the time jump, but I trust Hader and Berg to wrap this up well considering the series as a whole. Need to listen to the Sean Fennessey/Bill Hader recap on Prestige TV.

NoHo Hank killing Sally with an axe is my wish.

Is there a more annoying character than Sally? I think she plays the actress genre very well though....spot on

I just don't enjoy any scene with her

I'd rather be back in prison instead of married to Sally for 8 years

Hader bailed on the rest of the recaps, due to the WGA strike. Sounds like he technically could have kept doing them, but is going full blackout mode instead, out of solidarity.

Yeah, saw that this morning when I found SF's tweet for the episode.
