Really strong episodes to start the season. We continue to be in some very dark places, but I guess that's where it ultimately has to lead.

Stephen Root was the highlight of the first episode for me. FOllowed by the horrific but all too familiar actions of Blondie's parents when she came home. I've seen my own parents at like that way too often - everything's fine, let's worry about other people instead of our own family, yuck.

Trying to watch the second one tonight.

Really nice prison they were in. Fuches even gets his own cell phone to dial up Hank anytime he wants.

Didn't like the way the last season ended but really enjoying this one so far because of the people who aren't Barry. Cousineau, Sally, and Fuchs are all really interesting right now. Conversely, I feel like NoHo Hank and his BF are on a different show at this point.

I can't really put my finger on why I love Barry so much, but I just do.

The "circular" scene where Noho Hank and Cristobal giving a ridiculous sales pitch, trading off as they passed each other was amazing.

The interjections by the waitress. Lol "yes, jalapeño poppers for the table"

The Britney Spears headphone/mic presentation.

Hank's outfit at the Mexican food restaurant.

This show is 100% Bill Hader. Dark, dry comedy. If there is such a thing. It's rarely seen these days.

I feel like Hader is showing, not so subtly, about some dark sides of Hollywood.

  • All his stuff about Streaming services last season, taste clusters, algorithms, etc.
  • Sally hearing that she has two strikes against her, and her only options are a podcast or reality show which would make her a ton of money, but she has integrity.
  • The reactions to Sally's method of acting coaching. Sally's abusive instruction was probably pretty close to some real coaches and directors

I loved how at the beginning they were talking about the assassin's gadget podcast and laughing that the gadgets never work.

Then, during the assassination attempt, Fred Armisen's gadget failed again.

That was the best episode for me in a long time. I almost gave up at the end of Season 3 but so happy I didn't.

The Rip Torn joke had me laughing so hard I had to pause the show.

Anthony Carrigan deserves a Emmy nom for his scene on the phone with Barry.

Just watched the first three of this season on a binge to catch up. NoHo is still the best. The wardrobe at the diner in episode 2 had me rolling.
