Led Zeppelin - Ten Years Gone. Guitarists and zeppelin lovers know it, but never a widely played song.

You could fill a whole album of these for LZ, and then some.

Rhinosaur on "superunknown" is underrated. But I also think the entire album is overrated. Thats another thread maybe.
Think Rhinosaur is on "Down on the Upside".

You're totally right, no wonder I like it better than most of superunknown!

This is one of my go-to songs to test the dynamics of a guitar and amp.

Buffett...grew up around sailboats, so parrothead life was ingrained in me. I also miss the old Kemah before it went commercial. Also, lots of hours spent in the pool at Watergate as a kid. Jumped off that waterfall hundreds of times. Saw my first set of boobs at South Shore after the parade of lights and the party going on there.

Tin Cup Chalice
Ragtop Day
The Weather is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful
Coconut Telegraph
Banana Republics
School Boy Heart
Boomerang Love
Barometer Soup (pretty much the whole album...Remittance Man, Lage Nom Ai, Barefoot Children, his cover of JT's "Mexico")
Steamer
Overkill
Death of an Unpopular Poet
Desperation Samba

Too many to list...

So thanks to The Last Of Us a few songs are making the rounds that might have been forgotten or never heard by a lot of people. The first episode closes with Never Let Me Down Again by Depeche Mode, it also makes another appears later in the series when it's covered by Craig Mazin's daughter. My favorite cover of that song was done by Smashing Pumpkins. They've done a number covers and this is certainly one of their best.

I think every song by Elliott Smith is generally underappreciated and underrated, but I'd offer up

"No Name No. 3"

and

"Pitseleh"

A couple of more personal selections

"Green Gloves" by The National

"Ball and a Biscuit" by The White Stripes

"At the Beach" by The Avett Brothers

"1 2 3" by 311

Faustus

Smashing Pumpkins - Mayonaise, Soma (off Siamese Dream);
Pixies - Gigantic (off Surfer Rosa), Debaser, Monkey Gone to Heaven (off Doolittle);
Sonic Youth - Theresa's Sound World, Wish Fulfillment (off Dirty);
Weezer - My Name is Jonas (off the Blue Album); El Scorcho (off Pinkerton); and Glorious Day (off the Green Album); and
Janes Addiction - Three Days (off Ritual de lo Habitual).

And a couple of choices that I think qualify under the rules of the OP

#1 - "Fake Plastic Trees" by Radiohead. It's hard to call this song underrated because probably everyone has heard it. Hell, spotify tells me it's been listened to 223 million times. But when you think of Radiohead, people think of "Karma Police" and "Paranoid Android" and "Creep" and "High and Dry" and OK Computer and Kid A and all of the various classics. Personally, I think "Fake Plastic Trees" may be their very best song.

#2 - "My Name is Jonas" by Weezer. Just like the one above, everyone has heard this song a ton. I think it's in the conversation for best 1/1 (as in track one from a debut album) of all time. It's a perfect Weezer song that gets lost among the greatness of the Blue Album.

Edit: Faustus beat me to it and I think we just became best friends.

#3 - "Only in Deams" by Weezer. Speaking of the Blue Album, I think "Only in Dreams" is in the argument for best "record outro" of all time. I love how it closes out the album and it's an exceptional song on its own.

And while I'm on the top of outros, this isn't really a "song" so to speak, but I love it and always have. "Thanx" by Sublime. There's something awesome about hearing Sublime play over Bradley Nowell essentially reading the liner notes with all his thank yous and shout outs and telling stories about getting 40 Oz to Freedom off the ground way before they hit big in 1996 with their self-titled album.

Countdown - Rush

Subdivisions got all the airplay and attention when Signals was released, and deservedly so. But my favorite track from Signals is Countdown, inspired by the band's attendance of a shuttle launch at Cape Canaveral.

Good song.

My selection from Rush would Marathon, from Power Windows (which is an underrated Rush album imo).

This was off Blues Traveler first album but got not traction then. It was resurrected in the Kingpin movie in the closing credits with the band in ful Amish dress. Love this song. The second video is the official veido release with clips from the movie and the band shown live.

Another candidate for best 1/1 of all time to me for introducing you to an artist.

Kanye West "We Don't Care" by Kanye West. I don't know how it charts among all the other songs, but I think it's one of his best.

Manhattan Project from Power Windows is a favorite of mine.

It's hard for me to think of a song of theirs that is under the radar because I celebrate their entire catalog.

Three of my favorites.

Buffett is a great example of an artist who had an amazing career despite little chart success. Heck, "Margaritaville" only went to No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. His next-highest charting single was "Come Monday" at No. 30.

That was in 1974 -- nearly 50 years ago. And the guy is still touring today.

Not making fun of you, more so the "do do do do" part at the beginning of the song. Sounds like CSNY to me, Suite Judy Blue Eyes if my old brain is working at the moment.

Anyway, I stand by Roger Daltry and his upbeat rock song from 30 years ago.
