May be a protagonist, but definitely a villain. We got to see his path to villainy, and his complete deviation from even the hypocritical morality of his father. That journey to becoming the villain is why The Godfather is in my top 3 of all time, and why it is superior to Part II, imo.

I think this arc to villain is continued into Part II just as well if not better than I, leading up to murdering his own brother.

Gollum kinda helped save the world, not only by showing the way to Mordor and pulling Frodo out of the marsh, but also by attacking him after he refused to throw the ring into the lava.

Gollum is a hero.

This is what I come here to post. Perfect amount of smugness to be a memorable a-hole. It's the only bad guy that I did a fist pump for when he died.

That movie is actually one of my favorites. The scene where Mel Gibson's character has to go rescue his son was perfect. It captured the emotions he had suppressed and the battle he has had with himself for many years.

Honestly, Terminator 2 is such a massive leap forward as a film that my immediate thought is that Arnold is the good guy in that franchise. The original Terminator is a great film, but that sequel was insane and T-1000 was light years more terrifying as a villain.
