I am unfortunately not going again tonight! Will be interesting to see how he contrasts tonight with last night. I was pleasantly surprised that they just went straight into In The Clear off the top! I loved the set list but see how it can be fun to go to many more Billy shows. Huge catalogue with a lot of unique covers so no 2 shows are near the same.

Les Claypool came out last night and they played "Billy Was a Race Car Driver". Then opened the second set with "Cassidy".

Maybe I should just start a separate Billy thread and dear diary myself. /ohbilly.gif

maroon barchetta-the walk off music the other night that Billy chose in San Diego was "2112 Overture/The Temples of Syrinx" btw. I would be happy if every concert I walk out of has that blasting over the PA moving forward.

Whiskey Myers concert in Saint Augustine FL on Friday was fantastic. 5th row center was only $160!

Excited to now follow their opening act - Austin based The Ransom Brothers. They had a spot on Dutton Ranch show in July.

We talked to the Ransom Brothers guys in the merch tent after the show. Great dudes and a couple of CTs. Sean '19 was in C-2 and Cole '18 was in Sq 20.

Dallas Rustic Oct 23, Terrell Nov 13, Wichita Falls Oct 24

OK, this is probably going to sound totally dumb but... I didn't realize that Megadeth varied their set list so much between cities.

I bought some new Victrola bluetooth speakers that look like rocks to put in my backyard and I was testing them with some recent concert footage from Megadeth.

I was watching the San Antonio show from last week and during Symphony of Destruction, there was no noticeable crowd chant.

I was lucky enough, I guess, to have enough South Americans at the show in LA last week that I got to hear in person (and sadly, for the last time) - the chant of "Megadeth, Megadeth, aguante Megadeth" during "Symphony of Destruction".

When I was hanging out at Dirt Bar with Digging Tunnels and Echoes 97 before the Rush show last week, there was a guy there from Minnesota who said his biggest disappointment was that Megadeth didn't play Hangar 18.

When I told him that they opened the LA show with 2 x Metallica songs and they played Hangar 18, that dude wanted to cry - as he was telling me about how Megadeth calls "The Four Horsemen" "Mechanix" (as if I didn't know - LOL).

9/27 was 40th anny of cliff. Probably why it showed up on that night.

As an opener, they may rotate stuff more, since they do have quite a few songs expected to be played.

As a headliner a few years ago I remember when I saw them it was the same as the few nights before.

Had a very difficult time buying 6 tickets with the AXS app. It has strict security that made it nearly impossible to verify I wasn't fake. I had to get off WiFi and was only able to login using cell service.

A couple of instances, the app timed out while entering cc details. When I logged back in, the seats were gone. Waited 10 minutes for those seats to be released from the timed out cart.

Yeah AXS is the absolute worst. I still got Tame impala tickets but I had to buy the ones for Sunday. I got kicked off of every device, got my seats then got booted at checkout. I was so pissed off.

At 54 years old, had the best concert week of my life last week. Iron Maiden-Megadeth-Anthrax on Tuesday at the Alamodome, Bruce said 40K in attendance, largest crowd they've ever played in Texas. Thursday, Rush at Toyota Center, and then ZZ Top-Cheap Trick Saturday at the Woodlands. Across the board, all masters of their craft.

No ticket for John Mayer at the Sphere so far. I tried a couple initial dates and they sold out, then he opened more dates and pretty much the same. Anytime I got in the lowest ticket was $1000. After a few hours I tried again and could see some additional seats but the lowest I ever saw was about $550. Need to consult the wife because frankly I'm not sure I want to drop that much.

More on sales the next couple days so I'll play around then.

And... looks like he added yet more dates.

sounds like metallica.. word around the campfire is sphere only allows artists to release so many dates at once..

Metallica has 24 dates, but it was like 4 waves of releases within a weeks time

I just assumed it was to create a bit of false scarcity to get the FOMO pumping.

Same reason they only release certain rows of tickets at a time for concerts now, so it looks like half the arena is already sold.

This process has radicalized me. Just let me pay a fair amount for a ticket.

I think that's just presales, due to allocations.

One general sale starts, in my experience, they are all there.

No, several public sales i have seen either entire sections shown as sold or every other row, then later in the day those same sections available.

muse tickets for lawn got down to $30-$40 on resale in Houston.
Was driving me nuts cause Denver resale never got below $70.

I've learned in the last year or so, for non high demand shows, and bands in just casually a fan of, I wait until close to show date. Prices drop.

I didn't follow my own method for breaking Benjamin last week. Bought soon after on sale date for $60; day before show was $40.
Didn't care about a close seat.

That's exactly the show I'm looking at for Saturday - Chevelle/Breaking Ben … definitely falls into that category of 'don't have to go but if the price is right….'

I'm going to do the same and see what it looks like day of and grab a couple if they come down. It's really just to go rock out a little with my boy

I'm with you! I feel like the concerts I'm willing to pull the trigger on is less and less and have started to fall into two categories and it's all about timing.

Old school acts: Toadies, Our Lady Peace, etc.

New bands catching them on their way up: IDLES, Fontaines D.C., Turnstile

For example Fontaines and Turnstile would probably not be playing White Oak next time around and the prices will be 2-3 times what I paid to see them.
