Pretty much what I'd always dreamed their show would be like, 100% recommend seeing them if you haven't. Opening with Hotel California gave me goosebumps.

I missed out on every other Eagles tour, for various reasons. They did four nights at the Summit during the "Long Run" tour and I think I was the only kid at my high school who didn't get to go.

Thought I would never see them.

But they came through Houston right before the covid mess and I got tickets -- finally. When the old hotel keeper guy shuffled across the stage and put the album on the turntable and the band started playing, I thought I was gonna cry.

I don't know who that is but I'm not a big comic book movie guy. Joe Russo of Russo/Benevento Duo fame and JRAD. He's an incredible drummer.

Found myself in DFW unexpectedly this weekend and BIL invited me to the international guitar show. If you gave me a million bucks to spend here I'd still leave with items on my wish list. Saw sets by Matthew Scott and Derek St Holmes. Stranglehold is one of my all time favorite riffs.

It was. I nearly walked out with an 85 Ibanez Roadstar II in good condition. Held myself to just a few picks and vinyls

Saw Springsteen in Atlanta on Saturday. Amazing the energy he and E Street still bring in their 70s.

Suggestions for parking at Moody Center in Austin? My first time there. Going to see Black Crowes and Whiskey Myers this Sunday. Not wanting to pay a lot for parking

Caught Los Lobos last week in Phoenix. Still an amazing band, 50 years in. They can play any style of music and do it well.

They just put out a bunch of free tickets for this show (for those that get the Live Nation emails). As far as parking there's usually street parking toward the area of the Health Center garage, or further up the hill. Shouldn't be hard to find on a Sunday.

Caught Sevendust passing through Pittsburgh last night while up here on business for the week. Ive been seeing these guys for 25+ years and they still kill it.- Atreyu & Fire From the Gods opened.

My one old man gripe these days are the large LED screens as a backdrop. I get the visuals are light years from the old cloth backdrops, but they basincally just 'shadow' the band memebers on stage the entire show.

My guitar instructor and his son made a guy's trip to Atlanta recently to see them and I think Alterbridge as well. He said it was a great show and yeah, I agree about the screens. There are better ways to use screens

I was disappointed Sevendust wasn't on the bill for Houston with Alter Bridge. I would love to have seen them.

Agree on the screens depending on how they use them. Most recently Alter Bridge was fine, but when Filter opened for them it was like there were almost no stage lights and they were just shadows in front of the screen the whole set.

This is the extreme result of digital background screens. Death Grips from 2023 ACL.

Exactly as above - most of my pics above were mainly when the house or can lights were up

Seems like most hands are trying visuals with a 'mini sphere' experience. There was so much going on during the songs it's a bit of overload - really trying not to yell at clouds, just give me a raucous good time

Catching the Eagles and Tedeschi Trucks Band at Globe Life tonight. Never seen the Eagles before so I'm pumped.

Smashing Pumpkins announced a 30th Anniversary of Mellon Collie tour, which is great because my 15 year old has gotten into them and I've never seen them live.

And of course no Houston date, just Austin. Ugh!!!!

Was interested in this and got the pre-sale code from Moody sent this morning at 9:04 AM for the on sale in...56 minutes. Didn't check it out but curious what the prices will look like.

Had an epic 3 night run last week seeing my favorite band of all time (or second if you count Billy Strings).

moe. played the Heights Theater in Houston which I've somehow never been to. Then onto Dallas at the Kessler. Then ending with night 3 at The Mohwak in Austin which I'd also never been to oddly.

35 years and still as strong as ever in spite of the bassist battling throat cancer and losing his son to suicide, and one of the two lead guitarists having a massive stroke and having to relearn how to play guitar entirely. Now onto booking their two night run at The Mishawaka in Bellvue, CO, which has been on my radar for over 20 years now.

Up next confirmed: Willie and Family, Billy Strings, and the rest on 4th of July. Yeehaw!

Just checked the presale still happening for the Smashing Pumpkins Denver show which is the one following the Austin show. Both on TM, so I'd assume a similar price structure. Decent seats are $335 plus on the floor or sides. $200 plus for mid.

And for those reasons, I'm out.

That is too expensive for them. Last time they came through Houston they pretty much closed down the upper section o Toyota Center and upgraded everybody because the show sold so poorly.

I'd love to see them as I never have and grew up in their era and have long appreciated them. Uppers look to be around $100 which is fine.

The Sunday after Ags at Alabama does not help the cause either, though. But 30 year anniversary shows only come around once (or seemingly every other month now these days...**** I'm getting old).

Seen the Pumpkins twice in the last decade -- arena show in Dallas and stadium show in Arlington (opening for Green Day).

Dallas was enjoyable. They don't sound near as polished as they used to, but man it was hit after hit after hit and I'm extremely glad I went.

Stadium show was bad. Acoustics in stadium shows are bad as it is, but Pumpkins magnified that. Rancid and Green Day both handled it, Pumpkins didn't.

Yeah the lower seat prices are nuts. The upper most seats are $86 which might be worth it, but driving to Austin and back on a school Sunday with school the next day adds a major hurdle to the possibility.

That could be a reason why they are skipping Houston this time. Also could be because Toyota Center is already booked the dates the tour is taking them in the area. Ive seen acts come through that had the upper deck curtained off only to be a sold out show the next time they come back so who knows. Smashing Pumpkins is a show I havent seen yet that I would like to, but for the lower bowl to start at $200 I'd pass again.

Weezer is coming to Toyota center in the fall, second time in just about 24 months.

I would be surprised if they have sold more than five thousand tickets so far. I am planning to go but waiting to buy tickets as it may catch the blue dot cancellation.

The pendulum is for sure swinging the other way on tickets now, unless you are a top of the line act.

My son and I had pit tickets last time they came. This time, those same tickets are more than double what I paid last time. Hard pass.

A mid tier legacy act should not be $100 to get in the door. Top level should be $50 all day. Lower level $100. Up close $200+

Top tier legacy like eagles, metallica or PMC, etc, sure.. but not the pumpkins.

I agree, but the promoter and artist currently make more money if its a 3/4 full show at high end prices ($130 up top) versus sold out at $50 cheap seats. It will take sales being under 7,000 tickets to make them reevaluate.

I'm looking at denver now.. You must only be looking at platinum, VIP, or resell. Or, you're a victim of the 'presale frenzy'. They don't put all the regular seats on sale in presales.. these days bands are constantly pushing the VIP options for presales.

Now that presale is over, club level, lower level and floor can all be had for $116. Pretty good floor (like middle of floor, EEE front rows) are $200, or front row in the closest sections off to the side.

Here is a lower level seat and floor option for $116 plus a closer floor option for $164.

yeh I was skeptical hearing you couldn't get in the building for under $100.

300 level for denver are $52 after fees. Exactly where I would expect.

Man I remember seeing the Pumpkins in 1996 for the Mellon Collie tour at Compaq Center on floor in row 17. Tics were like $35-45

Good times
