Cam and Harper ****ed, didn't just kiss. Did you see how big Harper's eyes got when Cam toasted to "finally getting to know her properly?"

And Daphne and Ethan ****ed on that island. Daphne's advice worked for Ethan: do what you gotta do to be OK with it.

Lucia played Albie. That one you could see coming.

And I called it on the gun coming back into play.

I loved how Tanya's story played out. Managing to take out the killers and then dying like that anyway was great IMHO.

Man, I thought that was an absolutely incredible finale. I really don't understand how they could have wrapped it up any better. Tanya killing everyone on the boat was one of the best, most shocking scenes of television I've seen this year. Nearly every storyline, in fact, felt like a legitimately great thriller, and I could not get enough of it. I had people over and we were freaking out the entire episode. We kept pausing it because it was so tense, and kept commenting throughout how great it was, and then I come here and most responses are basically like, "Eh."

Oh, well.

This easily just became one of my personal favorite shows of the year, and I cannot wait for season three.

It was the perfect ending for a crowd favorite character who also basically kind of sucked as a person. Very Coen Brothers-esque, in the best way.

Fun season. I think Cam and Harper hooked up as Ethan was calling her bluff and was right. Ethan and Daphne definitely hooked up on the island.

The Tanya boat situation was crazy along with her death. Mike White said after the show that was a Tanya way to go out.

Albie got played from the jumped. I thought it was funny as you saw him, dad and grandpa checking out the girl at the airport. Evidently you saw Albie and Portia try new stuff with people but ended up coming back to each other.

I didn't catch this until I saw on Twitter why Cam looked annoyed when the kids were asking for him. From the tweet maybe that's why but who knows.

Great show. Great finale. I love how all the characters basically return or accept the fact they're pieces of ****, except for Valentina who appears to accept she can be happy.

Also idk if anyone watched the season wrap up interview with Mike White but he talked about how he wanted to give Tanya a badass send off but in the most Tanya way ever. And that her basically killing her captors/murderers like an anction hero only to then die in the most "derpy" way possible was hilarious.

10/10. Can't wait for S3.

Can someone remind me, what was Mia and Bert's interaction before this episode? Having trouble remembering why she would go up to him to tell him about the piano job.

Started when he busted them using his shower. But after the failed relatives search and was upset at dinner ("you think there's always going to be a homecoming. An embrace of a woman"), he says he's not hungry and is just going to have a drink at the bar. He listens to her play, compliments her (I have one fan) and tells her she's better than the other guy

My biggest gripe is that Tanya felt like she had to jump into the boat when the stairs down to the platform were literally just to her right and she just witnessed a guy jump off them to swim away. Other than that, loved it and the tension was crazy.

Tanya, while insanely foiling whatever plot was playing out, also flashes that insecurity one last time when instead of asking if Greg was trying to kill her, she asks if he's having an affair. I could almost hear Samuel L Jackson in my head saying "Affair??? He's tryin to kill you, bich!"

Can't wait to rewatch the whole series now - letting some things sink in and catching other stuff we missed. Such a great original show!

If the plot was to kill her, what was the point of getting her to violate the prenup?

Are we certain the prenup had a no cheating clause?

We assumed that is what it was. No confirmation that it would have actually violated though; Greg even mentioned that her propensity for just changing her mind and moving while he had no financial security on worried him. There's also the question of the rope and duct tape and why it would be necessary. They could have killed her many times. Maybe it was to take her out to deeper water before shooting and disposing of the body? Or maybe there was more to the plot? It seems pretty certain that Greg was involved, but we don't know with 100% certainty or how many details he was involved with. Seems unlikely but it could have been a ransom play vs a plotter. Maybe a more elaborate Fargo scenario. Lots of questions left intentionally

Greg was obviously in on it. He lured her out to Sicily where his old buddy lured her out after he conveniently disappeared.

But was it a killing or a staged kidnapping/ransom scenario. At least some questions about what the real intent was. Kill her, blame it in the mafia, collect $500 million seems to be the obvious.

Tanya blindly wasting the gays while crying/screaming was just an incredible scene. I laughed out loud when the gun clicked empty a few times when she tried shooting the last dude before he jumped off the boat.

Really loved the entire season.

What I don't understand is why in some cases White takes you right up to edge and then doesn't tell you what happened. Why not tell us if Harper and Cam got together or what happened with Daphne on the island.

Obviously it is heavily inferred in both cases. But why leave it open ended. Using the same tactics you could have just left Tanya falling overboard and then not told us she drowned.

I thought Tanya's ending was perfect and so in tune with her character. I am still laughing about her line about the gays getting all of her money to decorate and sh*t.

I thought she pretty much said it does when Portia called her from Jacks phone.

It's simple inference. You don't need to see what happened because it doesn't matter. What matters is the reactions to the characters to what did or didn't happen. We can infer Ethan and Daphne did the deed based on Ethan's transformation afterwards. Or conversely, you can infer he remained faithful and that's what informed his later behavior. There's literally no reason to see because that isn't the point of the story. And what's really cool is that like Ethan, we as the audience are going to have to wonder about what really happened

It's confidence in storytelling to not have to hand hold the audience to every specific plot detail.

Really enjoyed this entire season and thought the finale was generally very well done. One thing I felt was lacking was some kind of confrontation between Tanya and Greg. I know it would have been difficult to pull off given the circumstances but that still feels like a bit of a miss.
Ogre09

This. The audience is like the couples: we didn't see it happen, but we pretty much know what happened. They don't have to show you everything for you to get it.

She said he gets the money if she dies. That's why she was suddenly so concerned. She wasn't worried when she cheated. She was worried when she knew they were going to kill her. And killing works so much better than kidnapping. Greg getting the money from the kidnapping without getting caught would be messy. Plus he'd still be stuck with her after.

Was Greg after the money the whole time since season 1? Tanya met Greg when he was swimming laps at the pool, right? That was the same way Portia met Jack.

It brings into question whether she was a mark the entire time, and I think she probably was.
Ogre09

I think they were going to kill Tanya and make it look like an accident. That's the cleanest way for Greg to get the money. The rope and duct tape are to help make her easier to handle. And mostly they're there to confirm to the viewers the bad intentions.

The mafia guy ****ed Tanya to get her to trust him. Tanya said the prenup covers divorce but not death.

get her ass drunk, knock her off the boat, and "oops, she got drunk and fell" would have been easier but doesn't make for a good show. And harder to set up an awesome scene where an extremely rich insane person slaughters a boat full of scamming homosexuals.

Too easy to accidentally survive that.

So Cam needing money was just a misdirection? He paid Lucia and quit bugging Ethan about investing.
