Portia is the most annoying member of the cast. unattractive physically (she literally walks like an Aggie linebacker) and her personality/ethos is awful as well.

What's funny is that Tanya gave her great advice - don't chase emotionally unavailable men. Instead, she's rejecting the puppy dog Albie who is so available that he's capable of falling for a stipper, snd instead falling for the guy who has his d up his fake uncle's butt down the hall

I don't like her character, but she's not unattractive. She has a pleasant face..her body though..

You're right. I just was expecting a picture of the trainer, so when it was two kids I was caught off guard and not really paying attention to their appearance. That said, I know multiple brown-haired couples who have a blonde kid. It's not that out of the ordinary. Just saying, it took me a minute, even if that means I was an idiot in the moment.

It took me a minute to figure it out while watching live (at first I was just confused on why she showed a picture of her kid), but I definitely think we're meant to believe that Daphne had a kid with the trainer. Why else mention so specifically the looks of the trainer and then show a zoomed in shot of the kid?

She then says do you want to see a picture and then shows Aubrey a picture of her blond haired and blue eyed kid. And then just says "oops" when Aubrey points out that it was a picture of her kids. Se wanted her to know without coming right out and telling her.

I thought it was kinda a cool way to get the point across.

I don't at all mean this as a slight, I'm merely pointing out that Haley Lu Richardson is showing signs of incredible, happy-but-unfulfilled mom energy, and in ten years or so, give or take, she's going to start a string of all-time mom performances. Mark my words, come 2030ish, in comedies and dramas alike, she will be *the* go-to mom for decades to come.

Did you notice the rich gay guy was smoking Marlboros while talking about his Wyoming cowboy crush? I think the crush is fictional, the Marlboro man. He made the whole story up to have something to tell her.

They're definitely scamming her.

I thought it was a little odd to be honest. It's one thing to hint to your acquaintance you barely know that you should go get a personal trainer that you can ****… but to basically admit your husbands kids aren't his?? I dunno, just a little weird, but I guess it was more for the audience to show how messed up this perfect appearing husband and wife actually are.

I thought it was super obvious to us that the kids were the trainers. And to me she was deliberately telling Aubrey's character that with her "oops."

It's interesting reading the thread on here and those on Reddit re: the trainer. Seems close to a 50/50 split of viewers who saw it as blatantly obvious that Daphne had his kid versus those who had it go right over their head. I'm in the latter camp btw, but it's obvious what she was trying to say on rewatch. I guess I just chalked it up to her (or me) being a bit drunk I also didn't pay close attention to what the baby looked like, as TCCTS mentioned above.

Personally it thought it was obvious, she went out of her way to say the trainer was blond, and then both the kids had total blond hair.
Even if it was meant as a diversion, this show is written well enough that's there's no chance that wasn't meant as the inference.

I just finished my rewatch and it was obvious the older one was the trainers. Huge big blue eyes and blond hair. The younger one was a baby with brown hair. Totally missed that on the first watch.

(Almost very HOTD-esque with the whole blond hair vs brown hair vibe. I loved it)

And I will say that Ep 5 was incredible after the rewatch. After listening to all the discussion here, so much more makes sense. Lots of scamming going on everywhere. The Michael Imperioli character is so well written and acted. My favorite so far.

Heard a funny theory today on The Prestige TV Podcast that, seeing as Albie, Dominic, and Bert are in Italy to explore their Sicilian roots, and Lucia is from Sicily, the Di Grasso men are going to discover that they're actually related to Lucia, and (two of them, at least) screwed their relative.

The Marlboros seemed like a Chekhov's gun to me - - they were definitely delicately placed in view. Maybe not. But clearly a US brand. And they are in Italy. And he is British. So seems like an odd choice. Like a Coors Light.

Speaking of Greg being in the Bureau of Land Management - Tonya telling Belinda in Season 1 that she was going on a date with a guy with BLM and Tonya thinking that it was Black Lives Matter was one of the funnier lines for that season.
