IIRC, he's actually stabbed and killed by BF. Leanor, I think, was trying to dump him and he didn't take it well. He actually died and Daemon was NOT involved. I kind of liked the twist they put in on the show. Except for Darmon killing random guy for his body.

That's hysterical. I keep remembering the septon's version of the story and forgetting Mushroom's.
I could sorta see this play out - to provide strict closer. But it's not really important at this point.

It's weird timing though, right? He pledges to Rhanerya to be a better husband and then 8 hours later he's like "eff this, party time!" knowing full well that his house has just lost its biggest dragon weapon to the Greens. Even if his kids aren't really his kids, it seems like really insensitive timing for his nieces who just lost their mom.

Coulda been a better set up had it been discussed and schemed, before hand then Aemon takes Vhagar and losses his eye during the fight, then big family shake-up, and then the death/he skips town.
The tension build up between he and Qarl could been played up a little as well, stressed out etc from losing his sister and his kids being in a big family fight, the Queen holding a knife to his wife. Then BOOOM his lover kills him and steals away.
The way they ran it, he just leaves hours after re-pledging his life to his family.

Qarl overhearing his convo with Rhaenyra would have been a good push button for an argument. But that would have been too convenient for the timing I guess.
They could have gone a different way and had Rhaenyra catch him and Quarl banging right after everything fell out with Aemond and the knife fight, and she decides he's not strong enough to be an ally in the war to come so they stage to have Qarl kill him so she can marry Daemon.

I took it as him agreeing because he sees a way to honor the pledge he just made. I think the last line was something like "you deserve a husband". And he sees this as a way to let Rhaenyra have that husband that she needs in the coming brouhaha.
Where the f is Daeron? Should have been born by now, he's of age with Jace and don't think he's been mentioned yet
Who are his parents? Wiki shows him as Aegon III's kid.

Sorry should have clarified - Daeron the Daring, the third brother after Aegon II and Aemond. The one you mentioned is Daeron I, the Young Dragon.

I do think that works better though, would have been better in my mind if he even saw how close Rhaenyra was getting to her uncle after their reunion and he came up with the whole thing himself.

I do think he meant committing himself to his duty at first, until Rhaenyra hatched a plan to get the husband she wants and give Laenor the freedom he wants
canadiaggie explains my thought better than I did. I think when he made the statement, he intended to be the one that fulfilled the role. But with the rest of the happenings in the episode, he saw a way to both get Rhaenyra the husband "she deserved" while also getting to run away with his lover. Win-win.

I won't say who, but it doesn't matter what the topic at hand is. This person will ALWAYS cry about spoilers, even if it isnt a spoiler. That poster seems to think they are entitled to spoiler-free zones in all walks of life.

I love spoilers too. Life's too short and once Ned's head came off I had to know how it ended. Went and bought all the books so I wouldn't have to wait...only to find out that three more (then) were pending.
