New trailer, lots of familiar faces and places and Balrogs, and maybe Saurman.

I loved season 2. All the people that hated it was because of season one. It just became the "cool thing" to hate on it. This one looks amazing. Cannot wait.

100% agree!
Season 2 was great, I couldn't believe how much improved it was. The Celebrimbor / Sauron stuff was like watching British theater. I am really glad I stuck with it, and this looks all kinds of epic.

This might have been asked already, but based on what ive heard about season 1 would it make a huge difference to just skip season 1 and start at season 2? Or would it be too significant a jump and should start at 1, and just suck it up until it gets better...?

I honestly dont think you need to see it. The main reveal is who Sauron is and how he betrayed Galadriel. Maybe someone else can chime in but I think you can skip it and start with Season 2. Oh, and there was a guy that fell from the sky that may or may not be Gandalf.

My opinion is while it wasn't great, it wasn't horrible and a lot of the plot and character development is dependent on it. It has the reputation that it has because the bar was set so high. Still enjoyable watch.

Watch Season 1 but skip every single scene with the hobbits and it'll drop the run time to about 40 minutes an episode. The stuff with the elves and the dwarves and the men is all pretty good.

S1 is not as horrible as its made out to be. It is one of those things that took on a life of its own. I may have participated in it at times out of frustration.

An excellent second video with interviews and lots of different footage. And Simon Pegg as the Balrog?

I am of the opinion that S1 starts slow, but builds and gets better by the end, and lands well enough to make it worth it. Its worth it, and I agree, a lot of the hobbit parts can be FF through. I also referred to LOR wiki a lot along the way. Looking up who was who helped a ton!

I plan to rewatch S1 and S2 before watching S3

I think I'm going to do the same thing. And skip every hobbit part.

Will need to skip a good amount of the Numenorians too, a lot of that was below CW level production and acting imo.
Still like the show though, worth watching
