I just saw a trailer for the HBO Max remake of the 90s "Father of the Bride." First, that was already a remake of the great Spencer Tracey and Elizabeth Taylor hit. Second, it was one of the rare remakes that was even better than the original (to me, at least). Steve Martin was so great in it.
As usual, they have to put the twists on the previous one for the modern times. The parents live in Miami and their marriage is falling apart. The Banks are played by Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan ( of "Conga" fame). The odds of it being a good movie again don't look too high.
Is there no movie safe from the remake/reboot bug?
