final scene is black and white shot of Gene, after having lost all money and hope of escape due to Kim's testimony, positioning himself over Kim's sunroof and shot transitions to color as he says "It's all gone" and you see federal agents in the distant background.
That's not bad, actually.

I don't see any Journey references before mine.

Didn't mention the song but same ending
"what if Saul is having dinner in a diner and a bell dings when Kim walks in and it goes to black?"
Who thinks of a bell when pondering the final scene of The Sopranos? A bell in this universe is a Hector Salamanca reference. Plus I had Kim getting the "yep yep yep" treatment from Gene.

ummm ok. the bell was an integral part of that scene. Every time it rang Tony looked up until it rang and went to black. It set up the viewer perspective so you knew it was was Tony's POV every time it rang. The song was background to me and of course it also cut out. Each to his own I guess.

Chuck was essential to understanding - and essentially produced - Jimmy's entire psychological state/complex. Without Chuck there is no Saul. I agree that the show was better after Chuck left, but those Chuck seasons were a absolutely crucial.
The thing that bothered me most was the whole electromagnetic phobia. I couldn't get myself to care.

It reminded me of a movie called "Copycat" with Sigourney Weaver where she was an expert on serial killers who just so happened to have a phobia of leaving her house. Of course the serial killer winds up in her house and she just CAN'T LEAVE!! It was just a lazy way for the writers to add bogus tension. A better writer would have been able to do so without having to use a phobia crutch.

While Chuck was not nearly as bad as that, I think they could have told that story without having him with that condition. It was a distraction that annoyed me. It was the only part of the show that I couldn't get myself to trust the genius of that writing staff and assume that something great was going to come out of it.

I can understand if you didn't enjoy it. Nothing appeals to everyone.

But Chuck's condition is what allowed us to see how dutiful Jimmy was when it came to taking care of his brother, how unselfish he was in that respect. And the most important aspect of that was that Jimmy was going to such lengths to take care of Chuck despite the fact that he knew it was a mental illness and not an actual medical condition.

If Chuck had cancer, it would be still be admirable of Jimmy to take care of him, but it's a different ballgame when Jimmy knows that Chuck's problem is entirely in his head.

This was the biggest thing the show did to reveal that while he was a hustler/con man, he still had a big heart and not only cared about his brother, but craved his approval, as well.

Isn't this the reason the got married? IIRC the spousal confidentiality is what triggered them getting married.

Wouldn't be surprised to see that somehow come into play since we have yet to see it come back around.

An episode or two in BCS this season has already surpassed BB's greatest episode of all time, Ozymandias, in my opinion

BCS proved itself as as the superior show. Both series are phenomenal. This is my controversial entertainment take of the year.
You can tell you are smoking crack when the thing most people have been looking forward to this entire season was the appearance of Walter White. BB will likely not be surpassed in our lifetime. And unless BCS has the most amazing finale of all time, it won't do so either.
I honestly wish they never told the fans that Walt and Jesse would be making an appearance. It made it way too anticipated. Would have been much better as a surprise.

Totally your opinion on BB vs BCS. I think BCS is better overall, and I absolutely love BB. I know I'm not alone in thinking this, too.
I disagree on the overall quality. I think it's the best show on TV right now and is the only show that I watch live. But just look at the ratings between the two. BCS had the benefit of standing on BB's shoulders, yet after season one viewership took a nosedive. The finale of BB had over 10M viewers. Today won't be close.

I was clearly being ridiculous overall, but Kim COULD testify against Jimmy married or not. Spousal confidentiality insures a spouse can't be COMPELLED to testify, but they can choose to if they wish. Of course, they are long since divorced so my guess is she would testify if asked. I don't think anything like that will come in play tonight, but who knows.

So that Copycat movie really tainted my view of this. That was the most lazy writing I can imagine. Maybe PTSD from that is effecting me here.

I think they could have made a small change and I would be totally happy. Like if they had chosen alcoholism, schizophrenia, or something. I think I was supposed to feel bad for Chuck and understand why Jimmy was sticking by him. Instead, I just found it hard to give a crap about Chuck's condition. I never wondered (or cared) if it was real or anything. I just wanted Jimmy to blow Chuck off from day one. So that seemed like wasted time to me.

Also, during this time, my son stopped watching. It's just me watching now. Those first few seasons ran people away.

I did not mind the Chuck stuff too much at the time although I felt it drug on a little long. But I think the series got infinitely better after he died. More because Jimmy was free to become Saul which led to him becoming Gene. But those were the interesting parts for me. The rest was background. And we knew that is where it was going from the start so it finally felt like it had traction.

Oh don't worry about that. This is Texags, brother. Over the next 2 weeks there will be at least a couple arguments about what happens in the nonexistent world after the final scene along with a couple more fights about what the next story in that world is going to be even though Vince has already said he's moving on.

I may have said this before. To me, the difference was BB was plot-drive while BCS was more character-driven.. As to which you consider the better show, it depends on the type of storyline you like. Tough call for me personally, and that difference between the shows certainly narrowed over the last couple of seasons.

Being too slow is a legit complaint. There is a wide gap between being too slow and going full Michael Bay. BB played it perfectly, IMO. There were no karate fights, no walking away from explosions, or any of that nonsense, yet you had damn exciting episodes throughout. Hell, if you would have told me that most of the largest gunfight in the entire show would basically happen off camera between two episodes, I would have said the writers were crazy. But holy crap, did they make it work.

I think BCS goes too far in the slow direction. That one Gene episode with the mall heist is one example.

Here's what I think happens tonight… Jimmy gets off scott free, but at the expense of causing irreparable damage, like he's done his whole life.

He will talk his way out of whatever is coming his way tonight, like he's done his whole life.

The tragedy is he always finds a way to save himself but not without negatively impacting others.

Maybe that changes tonight. Dunno. Doubt it.

Today won't be close.
yeah and that's a shame. people pass on BCS because it's a spinoff and they assume it's not as good as BB. another one I hear is people watched it early on but stopped because "iT wAs ToO sLoW" hurr durr.

Regardless of ratings, I still think it's at the same level as BB in terms of quality. people are missing out for sure.

Newsflash. No one gives a **** what you think.
I struck a nerve. You know I'm right.
Lol, no. I'm just legitimately sick of your idiotic takes on this thread. That's one positive about this show ending.

Calling my shot. Jimmy doesn't die. Jimmy doesn't end up in jail. Rather, Jimmy ends up having a terrible accident while on the run and finds himself in a long term care facility where he is getting terrible treatment and overcharged.

Dunno. Doubt it.
If he gets away with it and walks then there is no closure. Only more opportunity to leave it "Open" for more story down the line. I think something will happen that wraps up his arc nicely.

Getting away with it is the most Jimmy thing that could happen. Killing him off just doesn't seem like an option, and him going to jail seems rather unsatisfying to me. I'm kindof rooting for him to wiggle off the hook one more time
