That's what I'm really hoping is going to happen as well. Have Holland be a few years older, settled into his life as a friendly neighborhood, albeit broke as usual, SM. The Venom symbiote comes calling. You can bring MJ & Ned back while on break from MIT and involve them.
One thing you could also do is introduce a young Miles Morales into the fold, although Tom Holland is never going to look old enough to be someone's mentor.

I think it's got 4th in the bag with these daily numbers so far and has a decent shot at being 2 or 3 depending on how much it can take in over the Christmas weekend.
I bought tickets for my family on Christmas day a couple days ago... had a really dificult time finding a theater with enough opens seats that weren't on the front row.

selling out showings for a week and half straight... it might get into 2 or 3 for sure. 5th is slam dunk, 4th decent probability with these legs... 2 or 3 is definitely on the table.

WB's stupid decision to put it on HBO Max is murdering the Matrix.

Spider-Man is the double-tap to the head.

Just got back from the theater. What an absolutely fun movie. Seeing Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina slip back into those characters without missing a beat was a treat. Interaction between the Spider-men was sweet and funny. Visuals were just outstanding. Overall great movie. Definitely one of my favorite MCU movies.

Truth be told, there are a lot of movies that I'll watch at home if offered. Stuff like Spider-Man is definitely a theater trip, but there are others that I just don't care if I'm in a theater.

"Peter Parker" ceased to exist. So too did his school records.

That's what I don't get about the memory hole. He wanted people to forget he was Spider-Man. Not forget who he was altogether.

I find it hilarious a kid who was seriously considering MIT needed a study guide for the GED.

I think there's tons of plot holes. Like Ned and MJ. Shouldn't they be even remotely concerned that they don't know why they were at the statue of liberty construction site helping Spider-Man? Why would they be helping him if they don't know who he is...?

$27.8 million pull on Wednesday puts it up to $356 million and 53rd all time. It jumped Homecoming, GOTG, Spider-man 3, The Two Towers, Aquaman, Batman vs. Superman, and Forrest Gump among others yesterday.

Next on the radar among superhero movies are Deadpool at $363 million, Spider-Man 2 at $373 million, GOTG 2 at $389 million, and Far From Home at $390 million.

Matrix made $6.4 million on Wednesday, beaten soundly by Sing 2, which I must say after having seen it this evening, is a delight, especially if you've always wanted to see Bono as an angry, depressed lion and Halsey as a street-smart dancing cat.

Saw it again tonight. Another sold-out showing, packed parking lot, etc.

Took my parents, one of my sisters, her husband, and two of my nephews, both 8 years old. One of them was so scared by the Green Goblin beating the sh*t out of Peter in Happy's building, and then so traumatized by May dying right after, that he started crying and asked to leave. So they (my sister, her husband, and both boys) had to peace out halfway through. My other nephew was pissed, though, because he was so into it and didn't want to leave, sitting on the edge of his seat as long as he could before they finally made him follow them out. (I said we could take him home, but we don't have one of those ridiculous car seat things kids their age still have to sit on for some insane reason.)

Anyway, my parents and I stayed, I teared up all over again in the end, and caught so much more dialogue this go around, since the crowd wasn't cheering. It's still an incredible movie, but man, it really such a better experience when people are clapping, hooping and hollering, and basically losing their minds.

I saw it for my second time this afternoon as well, and brought my parents for their first viewing. Theater was sold out. It made me happy to hear some more cheers and see people throwing their hands triumphantly up in the air.

My parents are up to date on the MCU, but were largely unaware of the previous iterations of Spider-Man. I spent about an hour yesterday carefully explaining about different cinematic universes and the villains from the previous Spider-Man movies to them. I did my best to account for about as much as the trailer had revealed, without going as far as any of the big reveals, and after the movie they both said they were truly surprised and enjoyed it.

I think I experienced more emotion on this second viewing, with May's death, and even Zendaya's performance just before the spell was cast at the end. Such a truly special movie to have Garfield and Maguire back in.

Your one nephew is never going to forgive his brother for forcing him to leave the movie early, lol. Christmastime 30 years from now he'll be telling his kids, nieces, and nephews how their Uncle was a pansy and made him miss the ending to the Spiderman movie the one year the family went to see it all together.

This reminds me of one of my favorite childhood memories from 20 years ago when my family went to see Fellowship of the Rings during a vacation to universal studios in Florida. The park had a movie theater that was nothing but imax screens, and my dad and I were stoked - we'd both read the trilogy numerous times. When the dark riders showed up in Hobbiton, my little sister, who was in maybe 3rd or 4th grade, got scared, so my mom took her back to the hotel room. Then when the drums started banging in the dark mines of Moria, my brother, who was in 6th grade, got scared, so he left to find his way back to the hotel room, too. My dad and I stayed for the whole rest of the movie, having our nerdy minds blown out by the spectacle, from Moria to the final fight with the Uruk Hai that splits up the fellowship at the lake shore.

It was awesome.

Shame your older nephew couldn't stick around!
Thanks and gig'em

Yeah, she was the student reporter talking about Peter's return to school, right?
