I have a hard time seeing them not win promotion in the finale. If it really is a 3 season arc, I can't see how it doesn't end with them in the top league.

I also won't be surprised if they run the false 9, it works and Ted gives Nate the credit in a postgame interview.

I almost think Ted goes to confront Nate.

It's just sucks that Ted brought Nate along and gave him his chance to stab Ted in the back. This has been coming all season with Nate and how he has interacted with people. Will Ted knock him off his high horse?

Being it's Ted, I think he forgives Nate and as someone said and Ted gives him credit for the "false 9" in the post game presser only to see Nate leave Richmond.

I agree with awall11 and think Ted will give Nate credit after the match.

I think Ted is heading to Rebecca's to game plan.

I'm a little surprised Trent Crimm (The Independent) gave up his source so readily. I know he respects Ted but I find that part of the story just a little bit too convenient

I think this is a critical question.

My bet is on either Rebecca or Beard. If it's Rebecca she'll fully support him and probably fire Nate. If it's Beard he'll have a similar take, but has the last several eps of observations of Nate's behavior to add fuel to the fire.

I thought about that too; but undoubtedly Nate gave it to Trent unsolicited and in his naivete didn't tell him it was unattributable. Trent used that reality to both publish "unnamed source" but also let Ted know since he respects him. This lets everything be accomplished; Trent does his job, Nate (being a naif) isn't publicly outed, and Ted can be ready and address it as necessary.

I think it's more interesting knowing that Ted knows and seeing how he handles it than wondering who told Trent, I think they just needed to pick one or another.

I have a feeling Nate's gonna learn that while the head coach gets all the glory for success, he also gets all the blame for failure, then decides maybe not being the focus isn't so bad after all.

He also may learn how little experience he actually has and be judged harshly for it. He may have some knowledge of tactics, but he knows next to nothing about actually coaching a team.

Love the title of the season 2 finale, inverting the pyramid. Any other soccer dorks on this thread read that book? It's a lovely history of soccer formations and tactics.

I have really enjoyed Film Crit Hulk's reviews of each episode. He's a big fan of the show and does a really nice job of explaining why the storylines work and fit together well.

Could be we saw them play Man City in the cup already this year, so lots of ways that could play out. I expect them to get promoted next season and right now I'd even bet on winning next week to get there, but there are lot of ways it could play out.

Yeah, it's still just speculation. Having rights to use more league teams and footage would be helpful if Richmond stayed down in the Championship as well.

Hoping Roy and Keeley just came to the realization that they need to take their relationship to the next level as they realize the recent events show they, and others, haven't recognized it as serious. If that doesn't happen then it Roy and the teacher seem like the next best thing.

If this truly ends up only being three seasons then the Nate storyline has to be a quick lesson learned. I don't think one more season is enough for him to leave, fail at another club and then come back. That said, he either gets the spotlight and realizes it isn't as fun to be in charge when things go bad or he sees Ted take the brunt for his failings and finally he understands what Beard told him about the trees.

I could also see Sam helping the team to win and then riding off into the sunset to support his home country (again if it's only 3 seasons).
