The writing and development are brilliant. They will find a way to make this perfect.
In Season 3 Sam, filled with love in his heart goes on a great goal scoring run. PSG comes calling with big money transfer which would help save the club and Sam and Rebecca (hello Cheers!) have to struggle to make a difficult decision.
I thought Rebecca looked good in her hat.

I think she's gorgeous. And not just 'for her age' though looking like that at 47 is certainly an accomplishment.
Also, the Sam plot twist made me feel uncomfortable. But that's probably because he pulls at my maternal heartstrings and I feel like Rebecca is definitely old enough to be his mother.

Loved the episode and love the twists all around.
Jamie doing Keely's thing and agreeing with Roy and asking to be coached and Roy telling him Ted f'ed him up and to be a *****.
Roy finding his coaching talent but Nate saving the day.
The dating app thing is interesting - we will see where that goes.
But two little subtle exchanges were my favorite parts as they often are.
Rebecca's Mum introduces herself and gives an overly descriptive intro (book on tape, lemon mojito's etc.)
Ted: Boy I love meeting people's moms. Like reading an instructional manual on why they're nuts!!
Coach Beard screams at the team: "LET'S GO!!!!!!!"

They may have filmed one year's worth but it was on for almost a decade.
There'a no way it was on only in 1969 as I watched it as skid in the late 70s and was born after 1969.

I was born in '84 and I vaguely remember it.
HR Puff n Stuff was definitely in heavy syndication for the 1970s and into the early 80s.
The Croft brothers did it, along with a bunch of other crappy shows. All of the shows were bundled together and you'd get a mixed bag of shows. I always liked Sigmund the Sea Monster.

I have zero problem with Sam and Rebecca flirting on the dating app. To see them together as a couple is far fetched. An awkward first meet up could be fun. But a May-December romance is absurd.
The scene near the end was great. Rebecca finds his jacket and gets really worried. I wish the writers hadn't spoiled the surprise victory with the announcers. Just having owner worried and devastated then interrupted by the screaming players bursting into locker room. It's nit-picking and subtle, but I think that would have been better scene.

Showing the subs and strategy was fine. Nate getting his due credit was handled by the post-match interviews. If it needed more explanation, that could have been handled after the match.jeffk said:

When Rebecca was in the locker room, I don't recall the announcers saying much more than "Richmond has scored". It spoiled the surprise. That's the part that could have been better. Just have the rowdy team fly into the locker room celebrating.
