Those are examples of wild conspiracy theories (aka lies) that are mainstream narratives in left wing media that should be immediately dismissed by any educated adult but clearly are not as evidenced by earlier discussion in this thread. They are no better or worse than the falsehoods parroted by those on the right with little grasp of reality.
you're fighting the good fight to keep emphasizing this point, but once again: believing there's a cabal of satanic pedophile cannibals running things is far more detached from reality than believing russian collusion, BLM, or any other "conspiracy" you care to name coming out of the left
that doesn't excuse the propaganda and misinformation coming from the left, but in the case of Qanon the "both sides" ism just isn't persuasive unless you're part of the movement or heavily influenced by it
That's your opinion from your perspective as a leftist and I completely disagree from my perspective as a conservative. Especially when you consider the damage done to society by the extremely misguided specific beliefs of those on the left, even if you believe the conspiracy theories on the left to be more "subtle". To clarify, I'm not talking about ideological differences, but actual lies being spread. The biggest one being the stoking of racial flames by grossly overstating the amount of white on black racism in American society while encouraging racism that is useful to the progressive agenda. It's destructive and subversive and it's intentionally done for cheap political gain with no consideration for the consequences.
In all fairness you are correct that a lot of low information (mostly boomers) fell for ridiculous theories about eating babies for example, but how many people really took it that far? I'm sure you can find just as many on the left that thought the Trump Golden showers tapes were real, which is almost as ridiculous. Probably only a very small percentage of the conservatives and/or liberals fell for that. I don't recall ever seeing anyone post something on face book about pizza gate or eating babies and I have tons of conservative boomers posting grandma forwards on my face book feed constantly.
On both sides we have to get away from creating narratives that are based entirely on lies. Imo, the truth about the Democrat party is all the political ammunition the right needs to show the American people that the Democrats do not have the best interests of our country in mind. I'm sure you'll disagree and will probably say the same thing about the Republican party. That's fine, I'd just prefer that both sides do so using honesty and facts and not gross misrepresentations of the latter or straight up lies. I'm just really sick of the lies. Lately it seems that every left wing narrative is either a gross misrepresentation of the truth or a straight up lie. Often times, the truth would be an effective political tool to rally their base or argue their case, but they use lies instead, usually based on race. It's a loosely organized effort to subtly vilify all American conservatives as low key or overt white supremacists and fear monger the minority vote. It's disgusting, reckless, ignores the real issues, and it's building up a lot of anger on the right towards the left and vice versa.
To keep this relevant, when can we expect the HBO documentary on the BLM founders and their newfound mansions?
