Personally, Feelin' Good Again might be my favorite song ever written. Paint the Town Beige is a close second.
I don't know about a thesis, but I once came across a post on a message board where someone dissected the song in order to prove it was really about World War II and the politics at play. It was honestly pretty well done and thought out, and was made all the more incredible by the post that followed it up, with direct quotes from REK saying it was about small town politics and the people in the song know who they are. Great stuff.Dr.Rumack said:

It's just such a quirky song. I think REK once said it was about small town politics and all the characters were the different participants in the town goings on. Also, I somewhere heard that someone wrote their thesis about the song. Would be an interesting read for sure.
