My wife pulled an Angel Tree specifically because the kiddo needed/wanted sneakers and she tasked me with setting him up. It's through her school, so the parameters were that it needed to be under $100, and preferably close to $50. These shoes are for a 14-year-old boy in a Size 9. I tried to go StockX but ultimately found the Nike sales got a better deal. I narrowed it down to three, and ordered one of these. I'm curious as to which ones our TA Sneaker Fam would have selected.
Option 1Air Max 90 Drift in Persian Violet/Midnight Navy/Black/Dusty CactusRationale: Classic styling, but the drifts come in ripstop and rubber, so they should last longer. Wild colors because a Christmas present should be fun and not necessarily something you'd buy for yourself.
Option 2Jordan 1 Low in White/White/BlackRationale: Another classic but this time in conservative color blocking so they are more multipurpose. Looks good with jeans, shorts, in school, or at church. Plus they are Jordans. Not OGs, not fancy, but there's something about the Jumpman when you're a kid.
Option 3Jordan 1 Mid SE in White/Sail/Neutral Grey/Oxidized GreenRationale: I like the mids, especially when you're just getting into shoes. SEs have better materials than the regulars, and these come with a conservative but interesting color blocking that's still fun. Bonus if he's a Dallas Stars fan. See the comments above about being Jordans.
