Price is subjective. I can see your argument on rarity, but when dealing with a commodity…if the value of a particular shoe collapsed on the secondary market, does it lose its "grail" status?

Yes. If the Jordan 1 Diors dropped to $500, it's no longer cost prohibitive and therefore, not a grail.

Someone is gonna say something like heat is up to the individual, and if it's heat to you then it's heat. I disagree. Heat is not some type of frame of mind, heat is tangible.

Heat are highly limited, stylish, and coveted by sneakerheads. They are rare, and just because y'all have a bunch of Jordans doesn't make any of y'all's stuff heat…

It's one thing to love a shoe and then get excited about a limited version of that sneaker that speaks to you. Or to love something and covet a limited release of a sneaker tied to it. It's another to want to own a sneaker because it's rare or expensive so you can show off.

Take those Avias. You like them, and I think that's cool. They are definitely interesting and different, and that has some intrinsic value to me. If I saw someone walking in them, they'd turn my head because they are different and interesting. Might even be something to get you cred from an old head in a IFKYK kinda way,

That being said, if you tell me there's only 1000 made, my comment is "Probably because they knew they couldn't sell 1001 of em."

Eh we're talking about shoes, here, and i'm an old man now. Back in 95 we would be squabbin but there's no way I'm gonna get upset now at someone making fun of my shoes. Besides, haters have a very prominent place in the history of sneakers. Someone's got to do it if we want to be authentic.
