There's no way he's being serious…right? He has to be trolling.

Yup, clearly this guy doesn't care.

I'm bouncing like I said and am not one to take actual offense to online forums, especially on TA...because I'm not 12 years old. If I can handle reddit and IG, FB, etc. TA is a cakewalk.
I will leave this here though. Took me all of 15 secs to find links on page 1 of a quick google search. Just because you don't like it doesn't make you right. If you don't like the sneakerhead definition of heat, cool....I didn't invent the act of collecting rare shoes, so take it up with that guy. I don't personally collect heat anymore, I collect shoes I like, just as you all do....I just don't refer to non-rare shoes as heat. Simple as that. If y'all want to treat it as potato/puh-tawtoh, cool, be my guest. Blow a homeless guy behind a Wendy's for all I care.
first thing that comes up in google:
Among sneakerheads, HEAT means "Highly Desirable Sneakers." HEAT. Definition: Highly Desirable Sneakers.

here's an article speaking to the tapering off of heat, as I referenced in earlier posts (because sneaker manufactures as they should in a capitalistic society realized they could just flood the market with a LOT more sneakers and make a ****ton more money):

A sneakerhead is a person that is into shoes. Generally speaking, they:
- appreciate the shoes for what they are and where they come from
- is knowledgeable of , or at least interested in learning, the history behind the shoes
- collects and buys what they like, whether they wear them or now
- encourages engagement in sneaker culture
A Hypebeast, on the other hand, is usually chasing clout. They usually want shoes for what they say about their own status or wealth. Hypebeasts don't really care about sneakers so much as impressing people. They want it because it's hard to get. They like it because it's rare. Sometimes it doesn't have anything to do with the shoe itself. Hell, they may not even like the shoe. But they like the way people look at them when they wear them. It's a different version of a ladies louboutin. They want people to see the red sole because it says something about their status. I can afford these, ergo, you should be impressed by me. Same reason people wear $300 hoodies or carry $1000 handbags. It's status.
There's room for both, but they are not the same. Both can chase a rare shoe, but usually for different reasons. Both play gatekeeper to a certain extent, but usually for different reasons.
The whole "heat" discussion is a version of the same thing. Is it "heat" because it's limited, different, or what it stands for/story is cool? Or is it "heat" because it's expensive and let's you show off your status? It's probably both. The sneakerheads decide what's cool. The hypebeasts make it expensive and hard to get.
Got 'em....on Darkside Initiative. Still pending in SNKRS.Teddy Perkins said:
