That's the interesting thing. It's kind of like getting hooked on slot machines or something. You play, you lose, you play, you lose, you play, you lose, you play, you lose. But when you win, there's an instant gratification and excitement that you get because you have lost so much. It's illogical, and it reminds me of the first conversation I had with my wife when I told her excitedly that I had "won" a shoe raffle.

SNKRS participants would make for an interesting economic/sociological group of study. The gambling/contest aspect of trying to buy shoes is such a weird phenomenon.

I have gotten caught a few times buying shoes that I thought would have a better resale then what they end up receiving.
The white/black/red Yeezys are on Confirmed right now. No interest in keeping them, is it worth going in for resale?

Yeezys aren't safe right now for resale. Maybe a slim profit margin, but id steer clear if it's not for the toe

Yeah, add about 20% to the retail price to account for sales tax and resell fees. Then look at stockx. If the size you're going for is around or just above that amount, you'll be looking at just recouping your costs. And keep in mind, the sell prices you see on stockx are inevitably going to go down after a release once people start putting more on the market.
Anybody here ordered through stadium goods? I got instaspammed by them and they actually have some decent prices on a few styles. Is there a catch I'm missing?

This (I'll call it) business model is not limited to shoes and seems to be picking up steam. You're seeing more and more companies purposefully creating scarcity in the hope that people will get caught up in trying to be the select few who can get their products. Head over to the food and spirits board and there's plenty of similar talk about wine, beer and whiskey.

It'd be fascinating to know what % of sales from drops get out on secondary markets and what % get returned to Nike within a week.
I think anything with Virgil's stamp will appreciate. This is actually something he designed before he passed. They went into detail on SNKRS live about some of the different shoes he pulled inspiration from over the years. Pretty cool segment.
