Depends on how much trouble the factory wants to go through to dupe it. Thats why you get all these batches with varying quality and differences. Typically, you get what you pay for. Less for bad batches, more for the good, and extra/market for 1:1.

Gotxha. So they are making a whole run of that shoe in that color in several sizes. I guess they will retool as necessary? The underground shoe world is another world to me. Thanks.

So these batches come out and get analyzed/scrutinized by reddit and other sites. This way you kind of know what you are paying for and the differences you are accepting in the shoe. I didn't know a ton about that world until recently. My buddy (the high $ Lasso guy) filled me in on the whole ordeal. Its funny that some of the same factories making 1:1 pairs are also being contracted out by Nike to make the "real" retail pairs. Usually all the difference is some kind of quality control marking or sticker. Like my TS High's came with the markings that Nike puts on the shoe only detectable by blacklight. Its subtle but its what authenticators look for.

And speaking of authenticators. I think what eBay is doing is great. I know it kind of sucks buyers have to wait a little longer, but sellers shipping direct to sneaker authenticators is great for protecting the buyers investment. The last two pairs I sold both went to sneaker con locations - one in Vegas and one in NY

Not use that factory? Idk. They have a ton of leverage im sure with how much business they give these factories. At least I would imagine they would/should. The whole thing is just novel to me and I'm sure I'm behind the curve on knowing about these things.

I don't think some people realize how incompetent US Customs is either. It essentially takes a snitch for them to actually "catch" somebody. Bureaucratic incompetence and the volume makes it impossible to screen all smaller packages.

Whats up yall....I'm usually a lurker and get ideas on what to watch from this board. When this thread popped up a couple of months ago I started visiting more and more because I'm a little bit of a sneaker head. So here I am now and like some of y'all I got tired of taking L's on the SNKRS app left and right. So yes, I am one of those that jumped the pond and decided to get me some reps. I went basic and got some TS 1s. And lets just say I think from now on that's what Im going to be buying! Hahah They're pretty good that I already have 2 other pairs on the way. I know reps is not for everybody but Im already at the point that screw it, I don't care what people say! Hahah if you've been thinking about it, I recommend it!
