I love them but I just don't wear them and for the next two years I'm going to have essentially no reason to wear anything besides work shoes due to a big career transition and I'm quite literally moving about as far across the country as one can from my house so I need to get rid of stuff.

Ha I completely get it. Funny how we do things like that when we get a little disposable income. My salary is going to get cut in half for about two years so I am also penny pinching and getting what I can here and there. It's going to be an insane few months as we make our way out there.

Adidas Y-3 Stan Smith's in off-white arrived last week. Crazy soft leather. These remind me of my Veja's but a little softer.

My latest rave shoes. These have survived about 10 nights on the dancefloor already as well as 3 days of EDC without a scratch. They replaced my orange and grey ones - black bottoms are the way to go for not showing dirt!

The 2015-2025 resurgence of AJ1s and dunks hit me right in the sweet spot. I have always loved, and will always love, those profiles. Same with the AM1, AM 90, AM98, and AJ11. It was a great decade worth of collecting. Things got bonkers during Covid. I don't know if it was people sitting around more, stim checks, whatever. The hobby got out of control. There's always been collectors and resellers, but there had never been THE BUSINESS the way it developed from 2020-2023 or so. StockX, GOAT, etc didn't help matters. Collecting became a beating. Kind of reminds me of the bourbon hunting that used to be fun until it wasn't.
Anyway, the culture has moved on a bit and isn't hammering the styles I love, so the sneakers dying off has been great for me. I am still collecting, I just don't post every pair now. I do have some slated to arrive today that I got for about retail and that would have cost me $1500 just 24 short months ago. I'll post them when they come in.
Anyway, I'm glad the craze has died down. I hope it runs off the folks that didn't care and were just flipping as a side hustle when work was low, and I hope the people who learned to love sneakers during the craze stick around.
The flippers have moved on to Pokemon cards.
Hype has died down for sure, but the releases have kinda died, too. Or maybe it's just that Nike isn't releasing much of what I like. But every time I check SNKRS, it's all uninteresting stuff
Took these out for the first time today, movie trip to take the little guy to Minions (he opted for socks and no kicks, he also just wore his pj's so some bold fashion choices all around). Shout out to jrod for the connection, they're just pretty and love the colorway.
Also, trust in the sneaker gods y'all.
I hesitated to buy these because I got laid off a while back, have been doing some freelance work but not enough to really cover the bills. Pulled the trigger anyway because reasons, and the day they got delivered I got 4 interview requests. Signed an offer letter yesterday.
