They missed hard with the 5s, IMO.

Those mockups are the same ones people put out for their first pair of 4s, I think.

Then , one beautiful Sunday while out throwing with the disc golf club, disaster struck.

Phase II

I needed a shoe with extra stability, I needed the complete opposite of my Sambas, I needed HighTops. Ugh.

I didn't want to stray from Adidas, and they have a few hightops with Velcro straps. I found a pair that seemed to fill the prescription. I could fit my swollen foot with brace in the shoes, and the Velcro really helped.

I wore them everyday for a month or two. After a few weeks I was able to wear them without the brace, and they were perfect for the support and stability of my ankle.

This is a picture of them today (I still wear them for disc golf when it's muddy or rainy).

Texas summers always seem to come too early. It was warming up outside, my ankle was better, and I wanted to get away from the high top, but I really grew to like that high top style. I thought I could compromise, and this pair seemed perfect, almost like convertible hightops. Note the white oval speed laces.

But my favorite day of the week was when I was stomping around the disc golf courses in my BIGASS hightops.

Maybe it was the fact that they helped my ankle heal, but when I was wearing the hightops I FELT STRONG! It felt good.

I wanted more hightop! I wanted the biggest, bigass shoes I could find, and then I hit paydirt. I found the biggest, bigass shoes I could find, the Avia 830.

I already know what you're thinking, and yes, those are army green colored grenade shoe locks. And yes, those are Avia lace tags on extra FAT laces.

Now you're starting to notice, you're probably asking yourself, "But each of those Avia 830 have 24 lace eyelets, that's almost 50 eyelets between the pair. Where in the world can you get stylish laces that are that long!?!"

Let me save you the time and trouble, if you need extra long, badass laces, check websites that sell rollerskates

When you're at the checkout counter and you grab a candy bar or gum, that's called an impulse buy. You didn't intend to get that, but it seemed like the right thing to do at the time.

These were an impulse buy. Adidas keeps sending me links to shoes I may like, and these were on sale for $44 at the Adidas website. How could I say no to my fantastic and overwhelming impulse to buy?

I haven't worn them yet, I've been saving them for WurstFest, which is next week!

Phase III

I thought I had things under control. I thought I was enjoying fun shoes, enjoying strangers saying, "Hey, man, nice shoes." But then I had to push it too far.

I started looking for an even more bigger, MORE bigass shoe. I saw hints that someone was remaking the Avia 880, and it was going to be a special run of only 1000 pairs. Months went by with barely any news in the Avia 880, just rumors on YouTube sneaker reviews.

One day I see a website called Aviaisback, but had to have a password to get access. A few weeks later they set a release date, but I find a sneaker podcast that has the password for early access a day BEFORE the release date! God is truly good!

Seeing as how it was a limited 1000 pair run, I thought about whether I should share this information with anyone. But like the true Texags bro that I am, I shared that information with y'all on this thread.



I got #46 out of the 1000…

Keep in mind those are the Avia is back 880 original specs. Avia (not Avia is back), has released the Avia 830 legacy and the Avia 880 legacy. The 830 I posted earlier are the 830 legacy. These 880 I posted ARE NOT LEGACY, they're original remakes. These MFers cost me $250. $250 American dollars!

How am I ever going to truly be able to enjoy wearing them knowing I'm damaging expensive artwork!?! Well I just may know the answer, I just need to buy another pair!
