What happened to your signal chain noise post? I wanted to hear the possible solutions that would get suggested when people get back to this thread.

This is an interesting guitar. Doesn't look as gimmicky as some of the other guitars with built in effects that we have seen in the past.

I saw Danish Pete do a video on the Anderton's channel and it was good.

Alamo Music Center also has a review of this guitar.

This Dutch guy does good videos. Here is his review.

It will be interesting to try in person once they become available. I wonder what music Bluetooth'ed to it actually sounds like?

Yeah, that will be interesting.

is that what it sounds like not plugged in to anything? So there's a speaker on it or something?

Edit, watched the whole video.. so yeh there's a speaker built into the guitar. Interesting.

There's no speaker. The guitar is the speaker. Actuators vibrate the top and back.

isn't a speaker driver an actuator?

you know what I meant.

Sorry. The gist of it was that I was trying to use a Boss Harmonist (PS-6) in my Marshall DSL-20's FX loop, but it wasn't tracking well (i.e. playing the wrong harmonies) when I used the dirty channel. Clearly, the cleaner the signal going into the pedal, the better the tracking.

I spent a lot more time moving things around. It's gonna sound like I love Boss pedals (and I do love some of them), but I'll try anything that sounds good. I moved the PS-6 after a DS-1 (Distortion) and a SD-1 (Super Overdrive) and it tracked well there, but the distortion sounds I can get out of either pedal (or both) don't match the Marshall tube sound, so I really want the PS-6 in the FX loop. BTW, the SD-1 is great as a boost to the amp's distortion.

After much fiddling, I've had good success with the PS-6 in the FX loop, but I had to tweak/reduce the Presence/ Resonance, and Reverb settings. It's tracking better now. I could hold a note and turn any of those 3 knobs on the amp and hear the harmony change pitch, lol. This amp's reverb function isn't great anyway, so I may end up getting some reverb pedal that could go after the PS-6 in the loop.

simplified chain looks like this:

Guitar -> tuner -> SD-1 and/or Tube Screamer clone -> amp -> FX out -> PS-6 -> FX return

It's probably getting confused with some natural overtones and harmonics coming through with the higher gain.

It was definitely getting some overtones/harmonics that confused it, but it was coming from the Presence/Resonance/Reverb settings I used. Mostly the Presence/Resonance I'd bet. Tweaking those seems to have cured it. I can run my dirty channel, add some overdrive, and it still tracks.

On that note, anybody have any reverb pedal recommendations?

Hoping someone can help me here. I've contacted Washburn and they won't answer.

Picked this up from a buddy who's Dad passed away and nobody played guitar in the family so i bought it without knowing anything about it.

It's a Washburn WD160Swce, and from what i can figure out that is just the designation of the cutaway and electronic.

I can find SOME stuff online but nothing what would tell me what it's worth, ESPECIALLY with the mother of pearl inlays and pick guard.

Does anyone know anything about Washburn Acoustics?

Nothing of note…. I don't think.

All the info is on the inside of the body

Wow. Lots of search results about Washburn serial numbers and how terrible they are about how those are assigned.

You might want to just find similar models on Reverb and see what they are going for.

I see a few with prices, all around $500.

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to play the previous version and I was surprised by how good it was. With the addition of looping, and solid wood back and sides, I'm just gonna have to make room for one.

thanks for the assist. That's what i found out as well… that Washburn sucks. The ones i found were the timber bodies but didn't have any of the inlays or the pick guard and was curious if this added anything.

I saw about $500-600 online for those, which makes me happy about the $200 i paid. It's actually a great playing guitar so i'm happy with it.

thanks everyone.

(and if anyone wants to trade for a telecaster I'd be willing =-)

Honest question that may not have one answer: how do you order your pedals? I've just got a wah, phase shifter, and I'll probably grab another tuning pedal for the house so I don't have to rob it from gig box and can also stop using my phone.

I've never had much more than a wah and just used the onboard effects of amps I've had. The MT15 has a clean and lead channel so I don't know that I'm really interested in getting too many more if any so maybe in my situation it doesn't matter much.

It's a pinstripe DISO+ line isolator. It does fantastic job at minimizing my signal strength/level loss leaving my HX Stomp. I use the stomp for amp modeling left AC 30 and right matchless spitfire. Great for live use and studio recording.

Here's a solid video showing what it does and how it compares to a normal DI

That looks like a Little Martin. Good choice for a couch guitar and one to learn a few chords on. If you like it, you'll be pleasantly surprised when you move to a full size, although it sounds like you've already tried a full size.

I've still got my Mesa Fillmore 50. I'll go to $1100 for TexAgs.
