UPS continues to be a nightmare. Called today just to tell me they still haven't found the package that the seller says he received back. Told them that and they seem content to just wait until their time is up and right a big check to the seller. I'd say he's scamming me, but I don't know what the scam would even be. If he ghosts me I'll go through reverb and get my money, but he's still responding this morning. Told them this morning again that he says he has it and just got "we don't show any scans since 8/28."

So he printed off the UPS label from home but never actually took it to UPS? Is that what you are thinking?

A 29 pound package was sent all the way to Houston based on scans and then disappeared. According to the seller it was delivered at his house on Tuesday supposedly without the shipping label. The seller has a good rating and not a new profile with all five star ratings on sales and purchases so I my first thought isn't I'm being scammed. It's just weird and UPS is being absolutely no help whatsoever. They really don't want to talk to me because they only deal with the shipper.

I have the tracking number and his claim number. I don't think I have the shipping number anywhere.
Like I said, he's been readily communicative so I don't think he's doing anything other than maybe hoping they insist on marking it lost and he gets reimbursed from them and sends me the guitar and keeps my money. He had mentioned before that if they mark it lost he'll pay out of pocket to send it second day air, but my first thought at that was well yeah, you'll be getting $3300 dollars for free so I'm sure you're perfectly happy to pay at that point.

Damn... i've been blessed with all of my dealings. Never a single issue, and I've shipped a LOT of gear as well as received a LOT of guitar gear.

At the end of the day, it's through reverb so even if he ghosts me I should be covered. It's all just a giant pain right now and annoying because I wanted to take it to the Tremonti clinic next weekend. Not the end of the world, just irritating. UPS has really been the most infuriating though. They don't seem to care in the least that this is a situation entirely caused by them.

Just heard from the seller again and he says he's just going to ship it himself on Monday and then deal with them.
The whole thing is so odd. I've talked to the investigation department and customer service and they just seem like they'd rather write a check for the guitar than anything else. I don't get it at all.

That's never fun. If this Tremonti makes it in time I'm thinking I'm just going to have it held at the local hub and go pick it up rather than having to deal with making sure I'm here to sign for it.
Trying to decide if I should take the purple singlecut back to cream plastics or leave it black.
Cream is always my vote!
Honestly the only thing stopping me is I hate trying to get the screws back into the pickup rings with the springs. Hell would be making me do that for eternity.

I did already swap back to the lampshade knobs. I also need to put the locking vintage tuners back on. He included those in the trade. He sold the Tremonti pickup, but theoretically I'm about to have two Tremonti guitars so if I swap pickups I'm going to go a different route.
So I'm not really one to have a guitar I like signed. That said, I'll have the shot to get a Tremonti signed by Mark Tremonti. I've seen some people getting him to sign in the back of their headstock. I was thinking there or on the control cavity cover so I can pull it. If I go the back of the headstock route am I going to need to get it cleared over so it doesn't wear off?

I only have one signed guitar. Bought one in a charity thing signed by Zac Brown to support a young family who lost their dad. My second most expensive guitar after my new Fender and I've never played it. I don't think I'd want one of my good guitars signed by someone, because I want to play them!

Not that it means much, but as a business we deal with UPS pretty frequently and nothing that you described would worry me. Pretty par for the course. Shipping rates the last several years have become so expensive because the logistic companies can't get their **** together.
I have a twelve string acoustic signed by Granger Smith. It's a low level Mitchell. I don't play it.
It's really astounding. They'd rather right a check than just contact the dude and cover shipping at cost. Just completely nuts.
Separately, I was looking through ended listings trying to find something else and realized I've had this guitar I'm waiting for on my list four separate times. This'll be the fourth time it's been sold in two years.

I did get the Gretsch set up, action was way high and too much neck relief (it's still kinda high at around .014 but I don't want to crank the truss rod too much) I'll see where it is in the morning and go from there.
Then new strings, some lemon oil on the fret board and take the plastic off and I'll be good to go. I already ordered some chrome knobs to replace the ****ty plastic ones, so I'll throw those on too and then should be good for a while. It plays really well now that I got it set up.

Looking for a recommendation for a solid state amp. I currently play on a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe (tube amp), but it's heavy and loud. My son and daughter both have a Fender Mustang (one is a GTX50 and the other is an LT25). The amp I had been looking at was the Boss Katana (probably 50 watt), but open to suggestions. Thanks!

I have a 150W Fender Mustang that I got off Facebook marketplace place. It gets loud af but quiet when needed. It's got great tones and headphone jack. Honestly I haven't played around with it too much but I think it may have some looper action too. It's got two Celestion speakers. It's a Fender Mustang IV 150W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp.

My daughter has the spark mini 10watt. It's a neat little travel amp, definitely good quality. I'll have to look into the Spark 2, I know you all mentioned something about lack of availability.
I have not yet. I like the three power control modes so you can get better sound at lower volumes. My wife appreciates that as well, lol. Plus, the power amp in jack, to bypass the (very good) preamp with my ME 90, so I can use it's pre amp settings.maroon barchetta said:

Ok, finished getting the Gretsch set up, swapped knobs and new strings. Now I am complying with rule one. It looks maroon from an angle, more purple from straight on with better lighting. (Had to rob the strap off my partscaster, I have a new one coming tomorrow)
