The tributes come w/ a maple neck if I remember correctly. I've considered buying a LP Jr. or Special DC tribute as I need a P90 guitar, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
The LP Specials can be great guitars. I'm still waiting for the perfect price for a TV Yellow one.

However, the best P-90 guitar I have ever played is my ES-330. If that is a little over your price range, you should try playing an Epiphone Casino.

There's just something about the P-90s with the fully hollow body guitar that is just amazing. For mine, in particular, the Gibson MHS P-90s with the hollow body and Bigsby just all blend together to be one of the best sounding and punchy guitars I have ever played.

The one issue with the ES-330 is that the body meets the neck at the 17th fret instead of the 19th or higher, unless you get a long necked version.

EDIT: Gah... just pulled up the ES-330's on Reverb. Damn, they have gone up in price. I bought mine and an Olive Drab green version for $2,700 each. I then sold the Olive Drab Green for $2,800 after deciding i would never play it. Someone is now listing an Olive Drab Green version for $5,100, ROFL.

I have this guitar, but in the vintage burst, and I paid $2,700 about a year and a half ago: https://reverb.com/p/gibson-memphis-61-es-330

Fretboard looks nice. However, need to back those pickups off the strings a bit!

Looks like they also swapped the pickups out on it, or added covers. Do you know what pickups they put on it?

Yeah, I like to have mine cranked down some.

The seller said he swapped the pickups to 490s with covers.

OK dudes, thought you all might enjoy this one. So a friend of mine has been battling lung cancer for the past couple months, very rough deal. This guy is an absolute badass on guitar, and plays in an Ozzy tribute here in Houston, and they are unbelievably awesome. Anyway, Zakk Wylde follows them on Instagram, and when he heard about my bud's cancer situation, he got his contact info and personally texted him and said he was gonna send a care package. This arrived the day after his 50th birthday, just WOW. Zakk Wylde = super human.

I've scrolled through this thread a little bit and usually I see a bunch of guitars that do not appeal to me and I leave the thread uninterested. However, this caught my eye today. Thats nice.

Wow... I guess even our guitar thread, that has made it over 1K posts without negativity, was bound to attract one.

That is awesome. Haven't followed Ozzy much after the Randy Rhoads era, but that is a really cool gesture that's from the heart.

I found the band's Facebook page. There's a video of him unboxing the beast- https://www.facebook.com/Ozzytributehouston/

Just got an email from the shop where I bought my Tremonti and, after getting an adjuster on the phone, they got them to approve a $500 claim. I was starting to think they were just going to decline it altogether.

Got a set of these tuner buttons that will be stained to match the Tremonti coming in a few weeks. This dude does pretty awesome work.

Yeah, they're all maple. I'm not a big fan of the chrome buttons which is why I swapped the other two to perloid buttons. If these look as good in person I may get some for those eventually as well.

Nickel!

I just love nickel hardware on guitars because I love how it looks when it gets old and tarnished.

Great video by Rhett Shull about affects of your indoor climate on your guitars, for anyone interested:

I saw that and got worried. Our humidity can get down to 37% or so at times. And can be 55% at times. Don't know if it gets higher than that.

I leave my guitars on stands for the most part. Should I put them in their cases with them humidifier packs?

I've been wanting to get a humidifier for a long time. Very necessary out here in dry West Texas.

HOT OR NOT- Les Paul Studio that has been sanded down to a natural maple top.

I like it.

It's always possible. I don't have a hygrometer and have not had any major issues. I have to tune my guitars when there are drastic changes in temperature. However, I also live in the swamp city, so it's always humid here.

However, if I lived in a dry area, I probably would get a humidifier. Guitars will always adjust throughout your life, but the extremes can cause that fret sprouting and the need to adjust the truss rod.

Man, I drove right past this GC today. I never get over to 249 for anything but was doing some car shopping today.

The wife was hungry and I said "Hey, I hear Guitar Center serves some good food", but we did not stop to prove that statement to be true.

Get home and decide to see what they have since I still haven't bought an electric.

This has my interest.

I don't know how the QC is on the SE models, as I'm not a huge PRS guy. Would like to hear from someone who has played a lot of SE's, American model PRS's, and other brands for that kind of feedback. Anytime I am looking at foreign made, I want to consider QC.
maroon barchetta

Yeah, I'm curious about that myself.

I've owned 8 PRS SE models (Bernie Marsden x2, Zack Myers, Singlecut x2, SE One, SE Soapbar, SE EG, all made in Korea), an S2 Singlecut, and 2 American Custom 24. QC on all is/was outstanding. I can't speak for the current SEs made in Indonesia.

From what I've always heard regarding foreign made budget guitars:

China < Indonesia < Korea < Mexico
