My wife thinks it's bad now while only one of our five is out of the house and is still not independent. Fast forward to the others being adults and oh my. Or hell, even just to me not having to write a $1000 check for child support every month.

The seller of my new ES-335 is waiting for his shipping box to arrive and then will be sending it. Can't get here soon enough!
Mine is a PRS Singlecut SE. Had it 5-6 years.Quincey P. Morris said:
So going completely contrary to the thread title, what's y'all's longest tenured guitar?
I've wanted to do a Mojotone amp build for a while now. They give you everything you need in the kit, so it looks like just grown up Legos.maroon barchetta said:
Are the amp kits I've seen any good? StewMac has some tweed amp kit for $800. Guess it's supposed be like a Fender Twin?
Seems high for a kit.
What model Carvin? I had a TL60 that I bought in 2001 - quilted maple top w/ blueburst finish. I still kick myself for selling it.Garrelli 5000 said:
Longest tenured is my 2009 Carvin. The N4 is a 1995 but I acquired it in '16.
I have a mid/late 90s Ibanez Artwood acoustic I bought new while at A&M in the late 90s. It's in a pile of items for a dumpster run in the garage. Hasn't had strings in over 15 years, isn't salvageable, and we no longer desire turning it into artwork.

Do acoustic guitars count?
I have a Martin 0018 that my dad bought for me back in 1972. Including hard shell case, it cost him $300.

Mine is a Washburn XB-100 bass I got in the 9th grade.
Still play it fairly regularly.
I'm jealous. My guitar shows to arrive before 9:00pm on Saturday.Quincey P. Morris said:
Looks like my guitar showed up at the Houston distribution center. Set to be delivered tomorrow. If it shows up at my local facility today I may see if I can just go pick it up.
I've had one for ~18 years or so, love that guitar. Swapped out the PU's a couple of times, but other than that it's stock and has been my workhorse guitar in our Pink Floyd tribute for that long. Great neck, easy to play, very high quality components. Heavier than a typical strat, but I like that personally. Mine is a blue burst w/ bird's eye maple neck.maroon barchetta said:
Anybody ever played a G&L S-500 Strat???

Mine is not a Tribute series, it was made in Fullerton (not Indonesia), so I can't say for certain whether the Tribute series would play as well/better than a PRS SE. But I KNOW for a fact mine does, as I had a PRS SE for a few years as well. I've heard good things about the Tribute series G&L stuff, but again, I cannot say for sure as I haven't played any, I would go play some at a Guitar Center if you can get to one. The American made S-500's tend to go for $1000+ (give or take based on condition, etc.). Love mine though!maroon barchetta said:Echoes97 said:I've had one for ~18 years or so, love that guitar. I've seen some good ones on Reverb. Seem to be much less expensive than a Fender for some reason.
Saw one go on another board for $550 with a hard case. Seems like a good deal.
Do they play as well as a PRS SE model?

I would say so, the Tributes are just made in Indonesia (I believe) and I think the Player Series are made in Mexico. Not sure of the specific differences, but IMHO G&L are excellent instruments that have a quality feel.maroon barchetta said:Echoes97 said:Mine is not a Tribute series, it was made in Fullerton (not Indonesia), so I can't say for certain whether the Tribute series would play as well/better than a PRS SE. Thanks! That is good to know.
A Tribute is more like a Fender Player series? Is the at a fair comparison?
