The digital reverb actually sounds very good, on it.

Can't speak for the neck, but kiesel has that back finish - requires a swamp ash. They call it antiqued. You can get on top and the body..

Great amp, but buy used.

yeah...i'm going to set an alert for any used ones that pop up. none on the site currently. it's british green or bust for me now.

Also sports a Celestion Greenback, instead of the V-Type in the standard model. Of course, I'm a big fan of playing through a 2x12 cab.

I have been making offers on Tone King Imperial MkII's, recently. I really want one of those beauties, but don't want to pay over $1,900. For some reason, the used market is starting to get over $2,100.

My Dr. Z MAZ 18 was my first "boutique" amp, and now I'm hooked. I can do some great AC-like and Plexi-like tones out of the MAZ. However, I also want something to get more "Blackface" and "Tweed" sounds out of. From all of my research, it looks like the Tone King Imperial MkII is the one for me.

ah...i missed that. damn.

so you like the bassbreaker over something like the deluxe reverb? i also like that the 30 is foot-switchable but it's probably too much for me sitting in my office playing alone.

Depends what you are looking for. The Bassbreaker does the "Marshall" crunch and distortion thing in a fantastic way. If you are looking for those class Fender sparkly cleans, then it isn't the best option.

The 30 is LOUD. I would recommend the 15 unless you need it footswitchable. They both have the same channels, but the 15 requires you to turn the selector knob.

how does the 15 sound playing blues? i mostly (right now) play all kinds of random rock which sounds perfect for it. just wish it was foot-switchable...

Works great in the second position. The high distortion phase can do high gain very well, but the second position can go from edge of breakup to classic rock crunch, very well.

You can get the 30r, but it has to get much louder to hit that sweet spot. Maybe get an attenuator?

Hey guys, just wanted to say I got the guitar in and while I'm embarrassed to say I'm not guitar guy myself, it's more beautiful than I thought it could be. I may have to pick this up as a hobby myself as amazing as this thing is. Thank you all for the advice and helping me find this.

This is one of those gifts I'm probably more excited to give than he will be to get (and he's going to freak). Will definitely share some pics once he has it and the world welcomes a new guitar aficionado.

Thank you all!!!

Yep. That Sienna Burst with the ash body is gorgeous. Now you understand the sickness many of us have. I see a guitar I don't have, and I start to have needs...

Really, I look at guitars as works of art as well as tools/instruments.

When he starts to learn, make sure that guitar never goes back into the case, unless you are taking it somewhere. Keeping it out on a stand keeps it in view and top of mind. Helps with picking it up more, especially if you love the look and feel of it.

That bolded part is exactly how I feel. They are absolutely functional art.

found a mint bassbreaker 15 in the dfw area (not even any wear on the leather handle) for a good bit less than anything i could find used on reverb. thought it was too good to be true so i just took an early lunch and went and checked it out, played around on it in the shop for 15-20 minutes and it's now in the car headed to my casa.

Nice! Great little amp. I think it's the best amp in that price range.

Yup. That is why we have GAS - guitar acquisition syndrome.

I'll take the red one, and the blue one, and the pink and the purple. And the maroon sparkly. I want them all.

When I first became fascinated with guitars around 88 or 89, hair metal was reaching its peak. A lot of the guitars on MTV or bright and bold. It is a thrill I've never recovered from.

I get excited every time I walk by it. Knowing how the Birdseye maple neck and fretboard will feel. It is my religion.

With good pickups and electronics, i liked playing on the second stage and rolling off the volume on my guitar to clean it up.

I'm an EL84 amp fan, so I love the Bassbreaker. The funny thing is that it is a "replica" of a "replica". Fender created the Bassman, Marshall copied the bassman to create the JTM45, and then Fender copied the JTM45 to make the Bassbreaker.

Mundo that is fantastic man! Hope he loves that guitar, it is a beauty. Did you decide on an amp yet? Apologies if I missed it earlier in the thread.

That sienna burst is just excellent, well done!

So... as shown earlier in this thread, I purchased a Moss Green PRS S2 Custom 22, and then immediately found that amazing Eriza Verde CE that I purchased. I was going to sell the S2, but I keep finding myself rejecting every offer that isn't exactly what I'm asking for. I'm feeling like I don't want to sell it.

Honestly, it plays better than the CE, but doesn't quite sound as good because of the pickups. I'm starting to think about just keeping it and replacing the pickups with something else. The S2's neck just has the nicest rolled fretboard I may have ever played. It is so comfortable to play. I have a spare set of Gibson '57 Classics and a Seymour Duncan H-1 I could put in there

As for the CE, I don't care if I never played that damn guitar. It's just too beautiful to ever let go.

I find myself in a constant state of trying to convince myself I can live without the extra $1,600 in my bank account...

I keep finding myself trying to do the math on selling other stuff to keep the Amber CE. Especially since I keep getting lowballed on it. Hopefully that changes when stimulus checks go out but I'm not optimistic. They announced 2021 colors for the CEs a few weeks ago and added Eriza Verde. That's probably gonna happen at some point too, but not before I actually have the money. Fat, stupid, and single is no way to go through life.

Not my guitar but I had another one of those wall hangers I posted on the first page designed yesterday for a buddy of mine whose bday is coming up and is the biggest Deadhead I know.

It came out really good and the merchant sent me the finished product with one of his own guitars hanging from it. It has a similar looking fretboard to one of the other guitars posted earlier in this thread but I couldn't tell if it's the same brand? I sent him my idea and he had a mockup turned around within 15 minutes and then shipped out today.

I've been trying to set this guitar up with gold hardware for a while now. I had everything except the gold pickups. The guitar has Fishman Classic Open Core pickups, and up until recently they did not make them with covers (they recently FINALLY started offering them). So I got some gold covers and put them on.

I put my blue Warmoth LP up on Reverb and it surpassed my PRS that I put up Sunday in views and watchers in like 15 hours.

Restringing the Axis on Sunday and the high E tuner suddenly jammed. Gave it a crank and the pearloid button shattered. Craziest damned thing I've seen. The inner workings of the Schaller jammed up. I suspect the post jumped the groove (whatever the terminology).

The sudden shriek and my wife assumed I'd run across a spider

Fortunately you can buy a replacement direct from Music-Man. All other online retailers want to sell a full set of 6 complete tuners (not only the pearled button), and Schaller is 50lbs to order a single from Europe.
